Chapter 7

After her appointment at her doctor's was over, she went back to her sister's room in the hospital. She went inside and saw that she was sound asleep. Smiling warmly, and walked inside quietly. The blanket was half dangling off Celia's body, so she gently fixed it.

"Get well soon. We all miss you so much. The house feels like it's missing a piece without you there." she whispered and kissed her forehead.

She looked at the flower vase beside her bed and took it to the bathroom, where she drained the old water and filled it with fresh water. Throwing away the withered flowers, she filled the vase with the ones that were still alive. She held the vase and was about to put it back where she grabbed it from when her eyes caught the mirror.

Her grip in the vase tightened, and a surprised gasp escaped her mouth because what she saw wasn't her reflection, but something different. It was definitely her in the mirror, but she was dressed in medieval clothes and her braided hair rested on her shoulder. It was like her reflection but in different clothing and hair style.

Plumeria slowly raised her hand, and the woman in the mirror did the same. Her heart was beating loud and fast.

"Who are you?" she asked the person in the mirror in a low tone, because she didn't want to wake up her sister, but the woman in the mirror did the same.

Plumeria blinked, and the woman was gone. It was replaced with her live reflection. She looked down and checked herself. She was wearing the same clothes that Levi had bought her.

'Am I losing my mind?' she asked herself.

She quickly got out of the bathroom and leaned against the wall, trying to calm herself. When she was calm, she placed the vase back at the side table before she went out.

Her phone started ringing as soon as she took one step out of the hospital. She took out her phone and was excited when she saw the caller ID. It was her best friend Axel.

"Hey! Are you here yet?" she asked excitedly as soon as she answered the call.

"Yep. I just landed and you're the first person I told." he told her.

"Oh, I am honored by your majesty." she joked.

He chuckled.

"Which airport are you at?" she asked him.

"Airport B, but don't bother picking me up. Let's meet at our usual spot." he told her.

"Sounds good to me." she told her.

"Then I'll see you there." he told her.

"Oh, you definitely will." She told him and heard him chuckle before she ended the call.

She quickly called a taxi and went to the usual place they used to hang out before he left the country.

It was a café they used to hang out at and did homework together when they were still in school.

She got there first and ordered herself a latte. It was after fifteen minutes he arrived with his luggage.

When she saw him, he opened his arms while smiling at her.

"Gimme a hug.": he told her.

She ran up to him happily and hugged him tightly.

"I missed you so much." She told him.

"We talked almost every day." He told her.

"Yeah, but I missed being with you and hanging around." She told him and pulled away from him.

He smiled and caressed the top of her head.

"I missed you as well." He told her and pulled her back in for a hug. "It's so good to be back."

She pulled away from him with a smile.

"It's good to have you back, Dr. Axel." she told him.

He grinned at her.

"Do you want anything to drink? It's on me." she told him.

"When have I ever turned down a free drink, Plum?" he asked her with a grin.

She pretended to think about it.

"Hmmm… almost never." She told him and they both laughed.

"How about we have a sundae instead of coffee?" he asked her.

"Works for me, Dr. Axel." she told him with a smile.

He rolled his eyes at her.

"Stop it." he told her.

"What, Dr. Axel?" she asked him innocently.

He pointed at her.

"Stop calling me Dr. Axel. It sounds weird coming from you." he told her.

"Dr. Axel, Dr. Axel, Dr. Axel." she teased him.

"I will have you on a surgery table if you don't stop, Plum." he warned her.

"And my dad will have you on his wall." She told him and stuck out her tongue at him.

He sighed.

"I'm taking the next flight back to France." He told her.

She grabbed his arm.

"Not a chance." she told him.

He smiled at her.

Plumeria grabbed her purse and from the table and they went to get a sundae.

They were having a sundae at the ice cream shop they used to go to as kids.

"Mmm." he moaned in pleasure. "Now, this is what I missed most when I wasn't here." he told her and took another spoonful of ice cream.

"Well, you can have it all day and every day now that you're home." She told him.

"I'd be diabetic if I had ice cream the whole day and maybe once every other day." he told her and then smiled looking at her. "But I did miss home. You're my home."

She smiled.

"Where are you going to stay?" she asked him.

"I got an apartment near the hospital I work at so I'll be staying there." he told him.

"Awww, I wanted you to stay with us." she pouted sadly.

"My apartment is near the hospital. It's much more convenient." he told her.

She looked at him carefully.

"You're still mad at mom and dad, aren't you?" she asked him.

Axel froze for a few seconds before he put down the spoon and looked at her.

"I don't want to talk about that." he told her.
