Unknown Assailants

Christopher exited his Dimension feeling very refreshed.

He looked up and noticed that it was just now starting to turn dark and smiled under his mask.

'Time dilation is really overpowered.' He thought and decided to make his way back to the palace.

At this point, he no longer had any reason to keep staying with the Darius family since he could just stay in his Dimension, so he was only going there to continue his training sessions with Titus.

He admired the sky as it became reminiscent of a painting as the sun set, and the city started to come to life in the night.

Silently, Christopher removed his mask and had his armor morph into something simple. But clean as he started to navigate through the rapidly darkening city.

He debated teleporting, but that would just cause a lot of ruckus which he wasn't in the mood for, so he took his time to walk.

However, as he was nearing the wall separating the middle circle from the outside circle, he suddenly paused and looked up.

'Hm, isolated space huh?' He thought as everywhere was eerily quiet without a soul around.

He sighed and called out.

"I know there are 9 of you. Show yourselves." He said lightly, And there was silence at first. Then.

Several cloaked figures materialised, surrounding Christopher effectively.

Christopher saw their clothes and suddenly thought about something.

"Oh, it's you guys. Here for revenge I'm assuming?" He thought as he recognised their attire.

All of them brandished their weapons as he said that and the figure who seemed to be the leader spoke up.

"Surrender quietly or die." He spoke coldly and Christopher smiled.

"That's my line." He joked but showed no signs of giving up.

"Kill him." The leader ordered decisively And the figures charged at Christopher, various magic types blooming as their auras surged.

"A 9v1 is kinda crazy." Christopher said without any panic as he stretched out his hand.

"Scarlet." He said softly. Immediately, the red Katana appeared in his hand, the chain at the base of the hilt wrapping around his arm and an Aura filled with bloodthirst and destruction erupted from the blade.

It was so potent that all the cloaked figures halted immediately as their body language showed clear alarm.

'Is that an artifact?!' The leader exclaimed in his mind. He felt his hair stand on end just from looking at the blade. However,

'If I can get that weapon, my strength would rise dramatically! And my position will increase greatly as well.' Greed filled his heart as his desire for the blade soared.

He looked at his frozen men and barked.

"What are you lot waiting for?! Attack him! The weapon is his biggest advantage! Just avoid it and you will be fine." He said and his men hesitated, but they still did it regardless.

"Smokescreen." One of them yelled and thick smoke burned from his palms and covered the whole area in seconds.

'Oh? It's blocking my sight and perception? Interesting. Though my sixth sense is fine. Their coordination isn't half bad.' Christopher thought as he felt two of the assailants sneaking up on him.

Then they both lunged and stabbed, but a wind barrier appeared behind him and stopped their attacks dead in their tracks.

However, they were very professional. There was no exclamation of shock or disbelief as they silently retreated to look for an opportunity to attack again.

Christopher was impressed, then he casually caught an arrow made of earth aimed for his eye and pressed on it causing it to shatter.

This went on for a bit and he got a bit curious.

'Only three of them are actively attacking me. What are the other six doing?' He wondered, and it didn't take long for him to find his answer.

He suddenly felt a dense amount of Mana converge beneath him and a magic circle appeared at his feet.

Then a moment later, a pyramid shaped cage appeared with him inside.

The smoke gradually cleared to reveal his assailants. Besides the three that had been attacking him. The other six including the leader were at the edge of the isolated space standing together. Though judging by their body language, they seemed quite tired.

'This cage must have taken quite a bit of energy.' Christopher thought as he lightly tapped the cage.

"Give it up. That cage is made from tier 4 runes. You'd need to be at the peak of the blue rank to even crack it." The leader claimed and Christopher's eyes lit up.

'Runes huh? I've been pretty curious about them for a while now.' He thought as he recalled the knowledge about runes he absorbed along with the Tome he'd gotten before.

"Now I will say it again, surrender or die." The leader said as he approached the barrier, but Christopher wasn't paying attention to him.

'There are 4 classifications of runes namely attack, defense, support, and summoning. Attack and defense is pretty clear, support runes are anything that involve restraining, healing, and amplifying, and summoning involves summoning a creature. The first three have two forms, individual runes or magic circles made up of runes. However, summoning magic requires a circle regardless of the difficulty.' Christopher pondered.

'This guy… is he actually ignoring me?'The leader was stunned as well as angry. Was this guy so delusional that he couldn't understand the situation he was in? Did he have the luxury of being so lax.

"Good, very good!" The leader laughed angrily.

"I'll make sure to absorb your Mana until you're nothing but a husk!" The leader shouted and snapped his fingers.

Then Christopher's brows furrowed as he noticed something strange, he looked at his hands and noticed his Mana starting to decline. It wasn't really alarming due to the insane amount he had, but it was happening regardless.

"Interesting. Would this still be considered to be a support type?" He mumbled and the Leader rolled his eyes.

"Act as calm as you want, your fate is sealed. This barrier can withstand attacks of a lesser Conceptual level, you can't break out even if you tried." He kept yapping and Christopher ignored him.

Instead, he brandished Scarlet and held it high above his head. This time, he didn't fuse it with any element and just allowed the pure red annihilation energy to run rampant on the blade's surface.

Seeing this, the leader's eyes widened and took a step back. He had a very bad feeling seeing this.

"Mirage Sword Style, First Form:..." Christopher swung down.

"Sever." His voice was calm and soft.

He swung the blade at an incredible speed, and a red line appeared across the cage.

However, Christopher controlled his strength so that the cage was the only thing that was sliced, and a moment later, the cage splintered before collapsing.

"Hm, that was pretty cool." Christopher thought and looked around. He noticed the cloaked figure ass staring at him with shock and terror.

"T-That's impossible… that was a 4 star runic cage… you can't just…" The leader took a step back before falling down, his voice shaky.

Christopher glanced at him.

"Weak. Was that all you had?" His tone wasn't mocking as he asked genuinely, but it was still interpreted that way.

The leader gritted his teeth and suddenly brought out an amulet.

"I don't care what happens, I'm taking you down!" He shouted and crushed the amulet.

"Leader No!" His subordinates shouted in shock as the Leader laughed maniacally.

When the amulet was crushed, the whole isolated trembled and a blood red magic circle appeared on the ground. Christopher's eyes showed a trace of surprise.

'It's more complicated than what Thanatos used to summon the Devourer.' He noted as a strong metallic scent filled the area followed by a rush of blood red Mana.

"Come forth!" The leader shouted, and from within the circle, a figure emerged.

Large black bat wings were curled up, and then slowly, they opened up to reveal a figure that made Christopher's eyes widen.

'Neuron Activation!' He thought as he took in the new arrival.

She had hair as white as snow which was long enough to reach her waist and skin that wasn't much different. Her body was like to be the embodiment of lust as her chest seemed to be barely contained by her clothes and her dress hugged her waist and backside tightly, making anyone who had to luck of being behind her drool.

Her face was radiating pure charm and beauty as she kicked her soft lips, fangs protruding from her mouth, and crimson eyes that held a touch of amusement for anything living.

However, aside from her beauty, her Aura was horrifying.

The cloaked figures couldn't help against their will and the leader was no different.

"Hm, why have you summoned me here human?" Her voice was melodious and seemed to strike one's very soul.

The leader had a nosebleed just from seeing her, but he spoke regardless.

"Oh Powerful one, grant this insignificant life form's request." He spoke with the most servile tone he could use.

The Vampire rolled her eyes and was about to say something when she suddenly paused and tilted her head upwards slightly and sniffed.

When she did, her eyes widened and her head snapped in Christopher's direction. The guy was just observing with curiosity

Her body flashed faster than ant of the cloaked figures could react, and when they found her again, they were shocked to see her, leaning against Christopher??!!

Christopher had a strange expression on his face as she took a long sniff from him and moaned, her face becoming flushed with excitement.

She looked up at him with a gaze filled with desire and asked.

"Hey, big guy. Are you single?"
