Mushoku Tensei: Wielder of Desires

Alex woke up in the world of Mushoku Tensei, an anime he had recently watched. The surroundings felt strangely familiar yet alien. As he tried to make sense of his new reality, he discovered a mysterious entity known as 'Omega,' which bestowed upon him the incredible power of 'Desire Manifestation.'

Successful Experiment

"Omega, do you have the capability to scan objects?" Rudeus asked while looking out at the green, grassy plain from the top of a hill. Over the past few days, he had been trying to understand some objects by himself, such as antidotes.

However, due to his lack of knowledge, he could not replicate them. The only thing he could do was make water.

[Affirmative. I possess the capability to scan objects; however, you must independently grasp the essence and characteristics of the object.]

"Ha-ha," Rudeus let out a forced chuckle, trying to hide his frustration. "I should've asked that sooner. It could have saved me a lot of time."

Rudeus reached into his robe and brought out a small glass vial no longer than his thumb. It was a general antidote administered in case of unknown poisoning. He then willed it to be scanned.

[Object analysis in progress. Identified as a glass vial with a liquid formula. All data has been recorded.]

Several blue screens appeared in front of him, each containing information ranging from the structure to materials. It was further classified down to atomic bonds and configurations. Still, on the positive side, explanations were provided at each level.

There was even a 3D model of the object. Rudeus played with it by enlarging it to the size of half a meter and then back to the original.

"Can't you just transfer everything into my brain?"

[Negative. To achieve that, your comprehension of the human brain's structure must reach an advanced level. Furthermore, a more detailed understanding of power is mandatory, as mismanagement may lead to unforeseen repercussions.]

.

[Your comprehension will progressively improve as you gain an understanding of objects and continue their creation.]

"Hmm…" Rudeus scratched his head. "So basically, the more I study and the more I create, the more I can understand?"

[Affirmative.]

"Alright then, shall we start studying?" He said in a resigned voice, going through the explanations. He never thought he would have to continue learning physics and chemistry even after transmigrating. "Well, here goes..."

|| One week later ||

During this week, Rudeus spent all his time traveling and studying. As he journeyed through the vast landscapes of Mushoku Tensei, he was amazed by the sheer size of the continent. The endless horizons seemed to stretch on forever.

The only thing that prevented him from dying of boredom was his system and his little experiments. Along the way, he scanned many items, basically anything he could think of. He wanted to create a catalog of items so he could access them anytime.

"Haha… I like it," Rudeus said while holding a modern leather bag with buttons and everything.

He was currently sitting in the shade of a giant tree. Beside him was a makeshift solid mud house created by his magic, with only one room. In that room, there was a stone table and a bed, along with a suspiciously modern pillow & bed sheets.

After appreciating his new creation, Rudeus walked inside the house and sat on the bed.

"I just need to make some adjustments, and after that, I could finally replicate the antidote," he said while looking at several glass vials on the table.

From the experiments he conducted, Rudeus came to realize that making liquid substances was more challenging than making solid substances. However, the hardest thing to replicate was when an object involved magic. It became a whole lot more complex.

He still remembered the time when he scanned Aqua Heartia. He had a headache just reading the explanations and details. In addition, his ability level was too low to facilitate the replication of energy.

"Omega, what is the effective range I can use power now?"

[The effective range as of now is 1 meter.]

"After all that training, is it still that low? Well, better than nothing, I guess," Rudeus said with a shrug. "Anyways, let's get started with the antidote."

With a thought, several screens appeared, along with a 3D model of a liquid. It had a dynamic form, like a water droplet floating in a zero-gravity environment.

Rudeus manifested a book on the stone table beside the bed and sat on a block of earth he conjured using his magic. He flipped through the pages until the last page, which read 'failed experiment #24.'

This was a new function he discovered. He could sort of store things inside the system, but it's not exactly a pocket dimension storage. What it basically does is scan the objects and store the information. As an example, he can manifest a book and use it. After that, he can just scan it again, thereby updating the storage. If he wants, he can keep the physical copy, of course, but it doesn't hurt to be more careful.

Although it was a chore to disintegrate the book and manifest it again and again, Rudeus did it because it made him continuously use his ability, making him more proficient in it.

"Alright, Let's get it started. Experiment #25 commencing."

The diamond symbol on his wrist started glowing, and several liquid substances began manifesting in groups. Each liquid had different quantities. In just a few seconds, the liquids combined to form a slightly yellowish solution.

he felt a sense of mounting pressure, knowing that even the slightest mistake could render the antidote useless or even dangerous. "Omega, evaluate the solution."

[The liquid solution replicates 'Antidote #001' with 99.99% accuracy.]

"Finally!" Rudeus stood up, clenching his fists with his hands towards the sky. In this process, he forgot about the antidote, resulting in it soaking the experiment book.

"Hah, I thought something like this would happen. Glad I always keep a scan around." He had a smirk on his face. For all he knows, the book might be lost or destroyed somewhere down the line.

"Sometimes My Genius Is Almost Frightening." After saying that, he couldn't help but cringe at his words. "I need to meet some people, or else I'm going to become a mad scientist as things are now."
