Chapter 45:

A paced back and forth as his thoughts jumbled into an incoherent mess. His heart tightned, the thoughts in his mind were overwelming. He came up with plausible solutions only to shoot them down for one reason or another.

His brother was just as stunned as him, the full implications of such news could change the war entirely in Kiri's favour. They needed to prevent it and fast!!

The tent remained silent for 5 or so tense minutes before A woke up from his stupor. His eyes glazed with determimation as he finally decided on a course of action.

"Tell all our men to gather! Tell them to gather outside in 10 minutes!" A instructed the messenger, the man bowed and left to relay his messege as soon as possible.

A also started calling his most trusted aids to inform them on his plan, time was of the essence in times like this. Kiri could attack at any moment.

They laid out various plans and signed off on the most probbably to succeeded.

"This war will be harder than I initially thought." A sighed as he looked out into the setting sun, something in his gut told him so. But his excitement also couldn't be concealed, such high stakes guranteed great rewards.

He couldn't afford failure. Otherwise the consequences would be dire. Kumo might even lose it's proud stance as one of the five great villages.

A vehemently didn't disire to be that to happen because he failed on his expedition. He had to protect his father's image and similarily boost his own if he is ever to ascend at the seat of Kage.

Afterall every kage had his own legend, otherwise his title wouldn't hold any real weight. His father had earned his title through fighting the 8 tails, a powerful demon to a Standstill. The third hokage, Hiruzen was known as the God of shinobi because of his skill in all forms of ninjutsu. The Tsuchikage had the particle style and the Kazekage could manipulate golden sand.

The Mizukage of this era was a great assasin. He alsi taught the best assasins ever produced by Kiri in the last 20 years. Ameruyi of the 7 ninja swordmen was his former student and she turned into an unstoppable force of nature that slaughtered hundreds of jounin and held title for the fourth most high ranked bounties collected.( A/N:Made this one up.)

Now an opportunity was presenting itself for A. Against seemingly impossible odds, he would jump right into the heart of the water country and disable whatever sealing array they had set up.

He could already imagine the prestige this would grant him, nobody in this generation would stand above him!

His men rallied and stealthily entered into Kirigakure's mainland. The Mizukage,Ameruyi and the revolutionary army being none the wiser about the intrusion. They were all too busy focused on preparing at this point.

...Locatiom Mizukage's office

The Mizukage was an unremarkable man when you look at him, an average face, eyes, and demenour. Evem as a kage he was lacking in power, but he made up for that through his shrewedness and skillful manipulation of politics.

He kept all the major clans divided, maintained fairly close relations with the water damiyo and called for favours to supress any rising clans. The village was always on the brink of a civil war, but the only detterance was that nobody was confident in surviving and if they did, the village wouldn't that one was very obvious.

Through this, he maintained power and even kept any allainces from forming. Unfortunately his style of ruling was slowly unwinding. Clans were letting go of past prejudice in hopes of coorparation. The formally grim status turned into an uneasy silence for him. He just knew something was wrong; the information he recieved always seemed incomplete.

As his thoughts danced about on the matter, the mizukage was inturrupted when a man entered his office in a swift flicker.

"Sir! The Damiyo has summoned you to meet in one of his secret safehouses. He said it is a matter of utmost importance and you should be there as soon as possible." The man informed and handed over a parchment.

"Doesn't he know I'm fightig a war right now!? Who'll watch over things in my absence?" The mizukage complained out loud, in the end he sighed knowing he would have to go either way.

The ninja didn't reply, opting to silently wait for new orders.

"You can leave." The mizukage dismissed him.

After the ninja left, the mizukage opened the folded paper. Inside were coordinates the Damiyo's secret residence and a secret messege written in a way only the two of them knew how to decipher. Asking to meet in person also meant that something serious was going on.

Seeing that everything was legit, the mizukage got ready to leave. He knew rhe risks but he was never one to shy away. He wore his robe and hat, called his bodyguards and started his quick journey towards the Damiyo's location.

...

Nero's location- Random swamp in Kirigakure.

Sometimes odd is just not enough to describe Nero. For all his cruelty, sadism and generally ugly personality and morality. He was also quite childish and stubborn to bend, even if it was to achieve his own ends.

Kids had stars in thier eyes as they watched the strangely dressed man perform tricks and dazzles their feeble minds with wonderous tricks without the use of chakra. Most of the children here were normal unremarkable civillians, including one particular girl who seemed a little over 12 years old. She stood behind Nero and his group with a bored look in her eyes.

A relatively tall, slender girl with fair skin. She has green eyes, and ankle-length, auburn hair styled into a herringbone pattern at the back, a top-knot tied with a dark blue band, and with four bangs at the front. Two bangs are short, with one covering her right eye, and two are long, crossing each other on her chest just below her chin. She had a serious look on her pretty face as she stared unamused at Nero's display, as a ninja she had seen and could conjure more realistic effects.

Nero recognized her young as she was. Mei Terumi, the fifth futuer Mizukage. That was one of the reasons he stopped in this small village, against the advice of his two travel companions.

Everything was like a game to him which greatly annoyed those who worked for him, but they didn't dare comment on this.

"C'mon kids, pay attention!" Nero instructed for the hundreth time as he performed another trick and blew away his audience. Parents looked on with smiles and kids giggled happily.

"Cool!! Can you teach me? Please..." One kid asked with stars in his eyes, Nero laughed loudly and patted the kid's head.

"Maybe later, unfortunately I have to get going for today. I have to sell my products afterall." Nero was beaming as he spoke, right now he was under the guise of a merchant and his mission was to control information like he promised. He had a squad of Kiri ninja with him for 'safekeeping' , and for the next few days he would been moving about to supress any rumors to buy Ameruyi some time. He didn't really need to be moving around to achieve this result, but since he was being watched. He couldn't raise any suspicions yet.

Sorry for the lack of releases, I've been working on my other 2 novels and I can hopefully write up to atleast 30 to 40 chapters in advance before posting them starting next year. As of now I've been rewriting and reworking some concepts to make improve the stories and make them more enjoyable. I also want to thoroughly plan every chapter before writing so that takes a while.
