Android's Hope 1

Beta Read By - XxNaRutoUcHiHaxX

-A2-

'Who are these people, and where the hell is this place?!' A2 couldn't help but scream internally.

Confusion and wariness was all she could feel at this moment. A2 tried to recall what happened before she arrived at this place.

She recalled going to an abandoned facility alongside 9S and 2B to exterminate the remaining machines considering it's now their responsibility because Yorha isn't to be trusted and indisposed at the moment.

Not that she cared though, after all they betrayed her first. Thinking about it made her artificial blood boil.

'Good riddance.'

After the bunker fell from space, everything was exposed, all the data containing Yorha's dirty secrets and most importantly, the bitter truth that humanity is dead.

Their gods are no more.

Even if the bunker survived the crash, there's no doubt that Yorha is finished considering there's literally no point in it any longer.

Yorha alongside many androids fight for humanity, it is the sole reason why they fought this seemingly unending war between androids and machines.

Without humanity, their gods, their creators, the sole purpose of their existence was gone.

What was the point of living…?

Nothing, there's no doubt in A2's mind that the androids who worked for Yorha would either commit suicide or desert the organization.

Not that she was any different, but at the very least she found a reason to live, as she realized that the world was beautiful even if it's filled with hardship and cruelty.

Anyway as they entered the abandoned facility, they immediately encountered and fought a horde of machines which weren't individually powerful but due to their sheer numbers, it was a hard fought battle.

It took a while for them to exterminate all of the machines in the area, but their exploration is not  finished yet as there's still a lot to check in this abandoned facility. They haven't reached it's core yet, and that's why they continue their exploration

However, as they got closer to the abandoned facility core they realized that the amount of machines was increasing to the point that they were struggling hard.

This wasn't normal, something fishy is going on here, the machines are way too aggressive than normal.

It didn't take her long to realize something is inside this very facility, as for what it is, she has no idea, but the point is that there's something important here, which is why the machines are more aggressive than usual.

After a long battle with machines, they finally arrived at the very bottom of the facility which led to its core, however there was a slight problem.

There were 2 routes, that's why she told them to check the other route, while she took the first route.

Of course they protested explaining that this is a bad idea, after all who knows what dangers were waiting for them in each route which is why they should stick around for more safety.

But she disagrees, while their concern has merit, she didn't survive all by herself for so long by being stupid.

In fact, something like this for her was a normal routine. The point is that she could do this alone, she wasn't weak nor was she a greenhorn.

Whatever danger was inside this facility, even if she couldn't defeat it, A2 was confident of her ability to escape.

It took a while to convince them, but eventually they reluctantly agreed.

They went on to seperate directions and now she was alone by herself

Entering the hall that led to the core, each of her steps were filled with caution, her body was tense as if she was ready to get ambushed by an enemy at any moment now.

But so far, there was nothing. In fact it was too damn peaceful and quiet, if you think this would make her relax, you'd be wrong because this made her more cautious of this place.

Her instinct was screaming that there was something wrong with this place and it was right as there was a machine…?, waiting for her in front, guarding the door behind it..

A2's eyes narrowed at the thing in front of her, the reason why she couldn't tell whenever it's a machine or not, is because it's body proportions were eerily similar to androids.

She should be careful with this one-

A2 eyes widened as the machine abomination was already in front of her attacking her with its weapon.

She immediately countered its attack as fast as she could with her sword.

Clang!

Sparks appeared as their weapons clashed with each other. A2 almost lost her balance due to the unexpected strength that this machine was showing.

'What is this thing?!' A2 cursed internally, however the clash didn't end there.

As the machine abomination continued its assault, A2 replied in kind as she countered and attacked the machine.

But so far, she couldn't find an opening to kill this abomination once and for all, it's like she was battling her fellow androids because machines don't move like this!

A high-speed battle started in the core of the abandoned facility. A2 had to use every skill, every trick that she learned in this fight because if she didn't she would lose badly.

Gritting her teeth, she let out a battle cry as she relentlessly attacked her opponent, the more she fought this thing the more she realized that this thing was copying her, like she's fighting a mirror of herself.

If this continues she would lose no doubt about it, so she decided to use her trump card.

There's a reason why she doesn't use this often, because this would leave her vulnerable for quite some time.

But this was one of those times that she had to resort to this extreme measure, then she activated her Berserk Mode.

Her system was heating up, if a human were to touch her right now they would have a third degree burn.

She has to finish this because the longer she uses this mode, the more her life is in danger. She would literally burn her wires from inside out due to the sheer heat.

Without wasting a single moment, she attacked the machine abomination with her spear, this time she had superior speed and strength and that machine couldn't counter her attack.

And with that single strike, half of the machine's torso was destroyed, immobilizing many of its functions and with her second strike she hit the machine's core, immediately killing the thing.

"Ngh..!" A2 forcefully canceled the Berserk Mode.

The heat in her system significantly lessened, but you could still physically see the heat that she was generating.

It took her a while to regain her bearings, unfortunately due to her using that mode, most of her functions weren't at their best.

In fact a single weak machine could easily beat her at this state, for now she should let her pod repair her.

It would take a while, but it's a must because it's foolish to go any further in her weakened state.

Hours later, A2 could finally move normally again, unfortunately, it isn't her peak performance at the moment as she lacked the materials to fully heal herself.

But it is enough.

A2 went to the door that the machine was protecting, wondering what's inside it, for a machine of that caliber protecting whatever was behind this door.

It should be important and she was right, as it would be the greatest discovery of the android kind but she didn't know that yet.

-Present-

"Who are you people…?! What is this place?"

A2 glared at the 'androids' in front of her, judging from their appearance they don't seem to be the same model type as Yorha's, maybe except for that white haired girl.

But her model is a bit strange. Why does she have  long ears? Not to mention she's short, probably the same height as 9S.

Either way, she doesn't exactly have the best impression of her fellow androids, especially Yorha's androids.

2B and 9S were a special case, so they don't exactly count.

Then the brunette haired android shook both of his hands as if it was a sign of peace, he smiled at her and said. "Woah, calm down Ms. We mean no harm!"

A2 didn't believe him, her eyes narrowed at him and replied with a razor sharp tone. "And why would I believe you?"

The man blinked and said. "That's a good point actually, but isn't it rude for you to go inside my establishment and threaten me and my customers? It makes you the bad guy, not us."

A2 didn't really pay attention towards the rude or threatened part, but the establishment part…

"An establishment..? Inside an abandoned facility…? No sane android would do such a thing!"

"Facility…? No, wait, what do you mean by android?" The owner of this place asked in confusion.

Which not only confused her, but irritated her as well.

"Are you dumb? Why are you even asking such a basic question?"

He frowned and replied. "Humor me then, because I literally have no idea what 'basic' to you means."

Despite wanting to hit this brunette 'android' for daring to ask her such a pointless question, she decided to humor him.

"Fine, it's because we're androids! Isn't that obvious?"

The man's eyes widened including the blue haired 'android', but the Yorha android looked confused.

"Ah…so you're an android..?"

"Of course! What else would I be?" Frustration could be heard from her voice, as this conversation was getting more irritating as the time passed.

"Well…that only applies to you Ms. Because aside from Frieren here, all of us are humans." The man replied.

"Huh..?" A2 mind blanked at the answer.
