1 Year Later

It has been 1 year since I became the correspondent for Fairy Tail and so far everything has been going well. No massive changes just steady increases in power and skill.

I have picked up the magic I wanted from the library and gotten proficient with the ones I had planned to learn over my time here. It was by no means mastered but I got the basics down.

For my anti-magic training, I have managed to make it so that I can cast it to dissolve low to medium rank magic around me or affecting me.

The problem was the cast time, it was way too fucking long. I needed to sit still for nearly a 1 and a half seconds to cast the spell adequately.

That was way too long to be useful in the middle of a fight. After a fight or whenever I had a break though it was a godsend. Getting rid of magic debuffs and poisons after a fight was very useful.

It was also useful if the person made a persistent effect like a hailstorm or minor wards. I was able to destroy those as well.

I started to work on my cast time by getting Lacrima that stored magic energy so that part of the process to cast an Anti-Magic spell was accelerated. I worked shaving off half the needed time.

For my telepathy, I had learned that there is more to it than it seems but I didn't fault the member of Fairy Tail for not having learned about it.

It was buried deep in the restricted library of the Rune Knights, that only I could access after having served with distinction for about 1 year.

While it was not able to alter the minds of others it was great at learning about others. So I was not like Xavier able to rewrite memories, change personalities, or control emotions.

Telepathy magic focuses on listening to the thoughts and emotions of a person. I was an observer not being able to affect their mind directly with my magic.

At the pinnacle, a Telepath was able to even look through the memories of people around him without them noticing. That was what made it restricted it was way too subtle.

That was why the higher forms of Telepathy were banned and shoved into the restricted section. It was technically illegal to learn this now but I didn't expect to tell anyone what I was doing.

Considering its subtlety as long as I didn't screw up then no one would know I practiced it. After all, most people thought me a brute and wouldn't even consider me learning this magic.

And due to learning about all the ways I could infiltrate the mind, I have also the best ways to protect it. So my mental barriers were much more powerful than a year before.

Too bad that right now I only have the ability to communicate with people in our minds. I still haven't got to the part of reading surface thoughts.

Still only having this was great for any team mission as we would be able to cooperate easily without needing to talk and alert surrounding Dark Mages.

My high intelligence came useful when I realized that I could host a telepathic conversation for a lot more people than the average telepath mage despite less training.

My incredibly high processing speeds and multitasking ability let me handle the strain of connecting so many thoughts using my magic.

As for my Requip Magic, it was going well. I right now had a 2-meter squared storage space that allowed me to carry a bunch of stuff with me wherever I go.

It still took a moment for me to retrieve items in and out of my inventory. A delay that meant I can't switch out weapons and armor mid-attack which sucked.

Still, as long as I had some space I could retrieve anything from my Requip Space in the middle of a fight. That was a massive help if not as helpful as I would've wished.

My Wind Dragon Slayer Magic hadn't made some incredible strides but steadily improved. The power of my attacks using it has drastically increased and my energy using it has decreased.

I still had to say the name of my more complicated attack like using the Rokuogan or using the Wind Dragon's Kick but the simplest ones were now wordlessly castable.

I could cast the standard spells like Wind Dragon's Roar, Fist, Talon, etc. without needing to chant now which was nice.

My Haki has also both increased. My Observation Haki finally broke through so now I can sense the intentions and emotions of most people.

This as you could guess really helped me socialize, knowing all the emotions of the person you are talking to makes it easy to pretend to relate to them.

It also helped me dodge blows whenever someone attacked me, they would send out their killing intent making it obvious I was going to be attacked.

That usually told me how severely they wanted to attack me and from where. That had definitely saved my ass multiple times during the missions we have been on.

My Observation has also gotten more accurate and wide-spanning. I can now sense anything within a 500-meter radius of me to the smallest detail.

I had been training to see the smallest detail, in particular, to get rid of one of my specific weaknesses, airborne poison.

It seems like that particular weakness of mine has come to light as many of the dark mages I have found keeping a lot of it in stock.

So to counter this I have been training to sense the difference between air and poison. And I have done it I can now sense where the poison in the air is, even if it is not visible and is odorless.

This allowed developing a specific move that used Wind Dragon Slayer Magic to blast all the poison from the area leaving only edible air for me to consume.

This doesn't last long though only like 1-2 seconds before the poison starts to seep in. So I could use it to give me a quick boost and heal but not a full restoration to my peak.

Still, it helped a lot against those Dark Mages, being able to heal and energize me mid-fight made me a nightmare to fight against. Soon I would perfect the technique.

My Armament training has also done well as now I am able to now use it on external objects such as my sword or clothing.

This really help increase my defense as now the enchanted uniform could take the brunt of the blow instead of me. And the sword was now a truly deadly weapon when I infused Haki into it.

It was like a slightly weaker but safer version of Enma. It took the Armament Haki I gave and used it to make the sword much sharper than it should be given that level of Haki.

I didn't suck my Haki out of me though so was a pretty safe sword to use. I have seen it cut through an entire castle wall with little effort when testing it.

As for my Conquerer's Haki, I have learned to use it to tame a bunch of animals. I haven't used it to gather myself and an army of animals but I think that I could.

Other than that its range and potency have increased allowing it to immobilize and knock out a bunch more people. This has led me to learn to control it, allowing me to exclude people from it.

Honestly, the manuals were pretty useful allowing me to have a step-by-step guide for how to progress. I was not said that I had bought it as I was advancing at nearly double the speed then if I didn't have it.

Other than that I have mastered Renewal Taekwondo to the point of being able to use the Recoilless set of moves, and let me tell you it was worth it.

These were the set of moves that allowed a normal man to stand up to the power of the gods and damn could you feel it. Each attack felt like I had the power of a bomb in my feet.

With just this alone I would be qualified to be a respectable S-rank mage but now that I have mastered the concept I can use it for all of my moves not only Renewal Taekwondo.

This has at least doubled the damage that each of my attacks does and allowed me to control my body even better than Seimei Kikan.

Other than my massive improvement in skills I have mostly been sent on missions to exterminate dark guilds or kill demons.

They are basically using me like how the Balam Alliance was using me, as their attack dog, but now I was able to face a much wider variety of opponents due to learning magic.

So I am sent on at least 1 mission every month and usually it isn't that hard. I would get some broken bones here and there but nothing life-threatening.

For larger fights, like what I did for my first mission, I would be in a team and together we would quickly dispatch the enemies with few casualties.

I have gotten used to working with teammates as well as absorbing the knowledge of tactics that the Rune Knight leaders were using in these battles.

By working in a group my reputation had also increased. Nothing worked better in building a bond then facing life and death together. I was fully accepted into the Rune Knights by now.

My bond with the Fairy Tail guild was now strong enough that I believe that I could now ask Erza about the Tower of Heaven.

Here I go, if I managed to destroy the Tower of Heaven then I was going from a rising star to the face of the Rune Knights all over Fiore.
