Guilt

Ashley had decided not to dwell on Vanessa's death for too long. It only made her depressed when she thought of it.

Frederick, her cousin, along with Isabelle and Jaylin had decided to take her out to play once they heard the news. All of high society had heard of Vanessa's death and that Ashley was there when it happened. There were rumors circulating that the young woman was distraught at the sight of the dead body.

Frederick waved her with a huge grin on his face as she stepped out of the villa. She smiled back at him, giving him a little wave before turning back to look at the man who tailed her. "I'll be going now." The man nodded. "Alright." He then caressed her face tenderly.

Their relationship had become slightly better, and Ashley had gradually grown accustomed to the man's sudden shows of affection. Nevertheless, she found something within her staring as his deep gaze lingered on her.
