Chapter 57: Killing Alliance, Little Princess
A bowl of soup noodles, she ate slowly and cleanly, and after she finished, she received a call from Ye Wanting.
"Jiaojiao, are you free tonight?"
Nan Jiaojiao narrowed her eyes, "Yes."
"It's like this, my mother's condition has worsened, and I can't go to my part-time job tonight. Can you cover my shift for me?"
Ye Wanting was very uneasy, and cautious, her voice growing softer, "All of tonight's pay will go to you. The tips from the customers are generous, and you can have all of them, alright?"
"Alright."
Nan Jiaojiao agreed crisply, Ye Wanting kept thanking her, nearly in tears.
Nan Jiaojiao listened quietly. The teacup in the noodle shop was very old, the white porcelain's original color obscured, the pattern worn, and the rim chipped in two places. Her fingers lightly twirled the cup, then she lifted it and took a delicate sip.
She spoke slowly, "Do you need help with your mother's situation?"
