Q: What is cultivation?
A: I derived my meaning of 'cultivating' from the XianXia novels, wherein humans practice a certain set of arts, to extend one's life-span, and ultimately reach the peak of existence (Immortality). In Eva's world, one is able to cultivate by practicing magic cultivation & strength/ body cultivation.
Q: What is the principle behind magic cultivation?
Magic cultivation in this world is the practice of controlling the elements (air, fire, earth, water, space, sound, etc.) with the use of Chi. In the book, it is explained how cultivating increases the amount of Chi flowing into the Left brain, giving one the ability to control the elements better, making the cultivator an effective Wizard.
The most obvious con of Wizardry is that it is very Chi intensive. Meaning, it demands too much Chi ftom the body, making it so that it steals from the Right brain, which is responsible for body cultivation. Although wizards live longer than the average citizen, they don't have life-spans nearly as long as body cultivators.
Still, many opt to be wizards due to natural talent or inclination towards the magical arts.
Q: What is Chi?
A: Most commonly known as a circulating life-force, loosely referred to in the book as Energy.
Q: What is strength/body cultivation?
A: It goes around on nearly the same logic as magic cultivation, but Chi flows to the right brain. Instead of control over the elements, the right brain directs the Chi into specific cells of the body. It is the art of perfecting the body.
All leaders of the Kingdom have all been body cultivators, mainly because of their life-spans. It is a known fact that a nation with less changes in leadership is more stable.
