Episode 20

Debris fell from the ceiling as dust blew over the wreckage of Jayden and Ben's attack. Jayden slowly got his feet, his left arm was injured and his body was left with cuts and bruises. Across the way Ben also got to his feet. Jayden wearingly stared at Ben, and Ben at Jayden. The two's eyes locked and they both could feel that this battle wasn't finished. "I'm not going to let you leave here..." Ben said coughing blood. Jayden nodded, "This fight is over...but I know you aren't going to back down that easily," he said. Energy pulsed around the two as they both charged one final attack. "This is my last attack...either you or I will fall today," Ben said. Jayden nodded, "We will see then..." He said. Jayden and Ben began running towards one another, "SIREN'S SPHERE!" Jayden shouted, "KAISER SPHERE!" Ben shouted. There was a massive flash as both attacks collided. Jayden could feel blood dripping from his shoulder, Ben's hand had pierced right below his left shoulder. Ben on the other hand was silent. Blood dripped from Ben's mouth as Jayden realized that his hand had pierced through Ben's chest. The two stood in silence as dust blew by. "Ja...Jayden.." Ben said weakly, "Th...a...nk you...." Jayden's eyes widened, "For what...?" He asked. "For se....tting me...free" Ben replied. Jayden pulled his hand out of Ben's chest and before Ben could fall over Jayden caught him, lying him on the ground. Ben had a slight smile on his face, but he was no longer breathing. Jayden fell to his knees and stared at Ben. "Why did this happen....why like this...." Jayden could feel tears burning in his eyes. "BRAVO!" a voice shouted from behind. Jayden turned to see a man in a white suit and purple hair making his way towards him and clapping. "I have to say, my expectations of you were spot on," the man said smiling. Jayden glared, "Who the hell are you?" He asked. The man smiled, " How rude of me, my name is Nexis Bane, and I have come to collect my prize," he replied. Jayden could feel himself loosing consciousness from the blood loss, "Sta...y away," he mumbled before passing out. Nexis walked over to Jayden and Ben. "What a shame, would have been perfect to have the pair of you," Nexis said staring at Ben, "But oh well...I have what I came after." Nexis reached for Jayden. "DON'T LAY A FINGER ON HIM YOU BASTARD!" Mikiu shouted. Nexis stopped and looked at Mikiu, Yuki, and Martin. "Oh? Well isn't this a bit of a reunion? I haven't seen you two in years," Nexis said smiling. Purple embers began burning off of Mikiu, "Stay away from him Nexis....or I'll turn you into a burnt pile of shit..." She said. Nexis laughed, "Ahhh still have that mouth I see, well it looks as though I'm outnumbered here though I already have more than enough data from my experiments here to finish what I started." Mikiu's eyes began burning with purple flames, "What do you need my nephew for?" Nexis laughed, "Well you see his power is quite astounding but alas he is damaged, and damaged goods aren't really my cup of tea." Mikiu began charging towards Nexis. "Oh I wouldn't do that if I were you..." Nexis said as he aimed a pistol at Jayden. Mikiu stopped, "That's right, he may have amazing healing powers, but should we test the waters and see if a gun shot to the head will heal as well?" Nexis asked. Mikiu glared as Martin walked forward. "I suggest you get out of here," Martin said. Nexis smiled, "That I will....my men have already armed this place for self destruction, so I will be taking my leave...for now." Nexis turned and walked through a hatch, "Until next time...but next time I will have my prize that I seek..." He said. Mikiu and Yuki ran towards Jayden. "He's going to be fine..." Martin said, "He used up a lot of power in that fight....but thankfully I can heal him." Martin leaned over and waved his hand over Jayden. Blue flames covered Jayden's body, healing his injuries. "That should do it...but we need to get out of here...id hate to be here when this place goes up," Martin said. Everyone left the facility and met up with the remaining Sentinels who had set up camp on the beach head. "The mission was a success sir," one of the Sentinels said. Martin nodded and placed Jayden down on a gurney. "Wha...what happened..." Jayden asked. "JAYDEN!" Yuki cried as she hugged Jayden. "Ah...Yuki..that hurts..." Jayden said. Martin and Mikiu smiled. In the distance the facility exploded. "Looks as though he was right about the self destruct...." Martin said. Vere walked up, "Ahh...my head," he said. Martin turned, "How are you feeling?" he asked. Vere frowned, "I'm....doing okay...I wanted to apologize for earlier..." Martin put his hand on Vere's shoulder, "I would have done the same thing..." He said. Vere shook his head, "I don't know how I'm going to tell her..." He said. "Tell who?" Martin asked. "PRESIDENT MAVIS HAS LANDED!" A Sentinel shouted. A helicopter landed on the beach head and Mavis stepped out of the helicopter. "Her..." Vere said.
