Episode 16

The energy around Vere intensified as the golden armor around began to crack and gears erupted from his back and shoulders. His wings burst from its armor and flowed in the energy around him. "Vere?!" Yuki asked. Vere walked towards the facility followed by the Sentinels around him. "Sir what are we doing?" One of the Sentinels asked. "Kill them all..." Vere relied. Vere jumped into the air and the Oracle operatives began to fire at him. Vere's wing wrapped around him deflecting the incoming rounds and he extended his arm towards the group of Oracle operatives. "CHANNELING THUNDER!" Vere shouted as the sky above him erupted and a bolt of green lightning stormed down on the operatives. There was a massive explosion and the operatives were disintegrated instantly. "VERE STOP!" Yuki shouted as she ran towards him, "I KNOW YOUR UPSET BUT THIS ISN'T THE WAY TO HANDLE IT!" Vere turned towards Yuki, his eyes burning with intensity, "SHUT UP!" Vere shouted as he raised his hand and blast of wind struck Yuki sending her flying back. "I've got you," Martin said as he caught Yuki, "He's in pain...but if he keeps exerting this much power....then he too could possibly die." "We'll need to stop him..." Mikiu said, "But how?" Martin sighed, "I have a way....though I don't want to resort to it..." He replied. The Oracle operatives scattered as Vere began to summon twisters that began sucking up operatives and throwing them in various directions. "Vere...please you'll over exert yourself...." Loki said. Vere continued with his assault, "I don't care...I made a promise and now it's broken...how can I look at her again..." He said. Vere extended his arm once again and a blast of green channeling energy surged towards the Oracle Operatives killing them instantly. "VERE!" Martin shouted. Vere turned to see Martin standing below him, "Stop...vengeance is one thing, but killing yourself is another..." Martin said. Vere glared at Martin, "Stay back...I don't want to hurt you..." He said. Martin smiled, "That may be a little harder than your think," he replied. Vere fired a blast of green energy at Martin, but the blast was consumed by blue fire. "What?" Vere asked. Martin closed his eyes, "I didn't want to resort to this, but time is of the essence and I can't have you destroying everything on site," he said. Blue flames began to wrap around Martin as his hands began transform and along with his ears and face, the flames around his formed a cloak and a fiery tail and ears formed on him. "What the hell is this?" Vere asked. Martin opened his eyes, his eyes were blue with yellow slits in the center, he smiled revealing fangs. "This is my Kitsune form..." Martin said, "Needless to say...this is not how I intended to use this form though." Vere extended his arm towards Martin, "Stay out of my way," he said. Martin smiled, "Yeah...can't do that..." He replied. A green blast surged towards Martin, but Marin vanished. "What the hell?" Vere said as he looked for Martin. "Looking for me?," Martin asked. Vere turned around and saw Martin floating in front of him. There were blue chains with fire surrounding them rotating around Martin. "Sorry about this..." Martin said, "Yokai Fire Seal." The blue chains rushed towards Vere, wrapping around him. "Wha...what the hell is this?" Vere asked as he struggled to move. Martin laughed, "Don't worry this won't hurt...much," he said. The chains ignited and blue fire consumed Vere, "AHHHHHHHH!" He shouted. "MARTIN WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" Mikiu asked. "Relax...I'm dealing his power for now...it'll wear off after a while, but I can't have him going on a rampage and risking harm to himself or any of you," Martin replied. The flames evaporated and Vere's form reverted back to normal, there were faintish blue deal marks wrapped around him as he fell towards the ground. "I've got you.." Martin said as he caught Vere. Yuki and Mikiu ran to meet with them. "Will he be okay?" Yuki asked. Martin nodded, "He's out cold for now...the stress he put on himself took a toll on his body," he replied, his Kitsune form had also reverted back to normal . The Sentinels gathered around Martin and the others. "Oracle operatives have been eliminated sir," one of the Sentinels said, "We are sending a team in now to set the charges, but we still have no status on Jayden or Captain Briggs." Martin nodded, "Very well...take this one and get him some where safe...this fight isn't over yet," he said. Two Sentinels carried Vere away and another two carried Devin's body away. "We need to find Jayden..." Yuki said. Martin looked at the facility and sighed," Jayden still has one more objective that he needs to take care of...let's just hope he's up to the task." Meanwhile inside the facility, Captain Briggs had returned to speak with the man who was holding his family hostage. "Good work Capatin..." The man said, "Knowing that my theory was correct brings me great joy.." Captain Briggs glared, "You've used me for your game...now time for you to repay the favor..." He replied. The man smiled, "About that..." Captain Briggs shuttered and staggered forward. "Y...you bastard..." He said weakly. Ben had impaled Captain Briggs from behind with a blade of light energy. "You see...your family was never in danger...in fact it was all a cruel ploy to get you cooperate," The man said, "You betrayed us...and left Oracle to join the opposition." Briggs coughed and blood dropped on the floor, "Oracle's actions were wrong...I didn't want to be involved," he replied. "And so you took our work to the counsel to have our organization taken down..." The man said, "But no matter..what was done was done and you have now atoned for your treachery...though then again you'll die as a traitor to both sides, how ironic." Captain Briggs fell to his knees, "My fami...family they are safe?" He asked. "Yes..." The man replied, "We created an optical illusion making you believe that your family was in danger and in turn you did everything you could to ensure their safety..including betraying your comrades." Captain Briggs coughed again, "I hope you rot in hell..." He said weakly. "Then I suppose I'll see you there then," the man said, "But until then..." The man pulled out a pistol and shot Captain Briggs in the head, "Just die will you?" The man asked. There was silence for a moment. "Ben...it would seem that our guest is causing quite a ruckus, find him...and destroy him...I want his power, do you understand?" The man asked. Ben nodded, "Yes sir...I won't fail you," he replied. On the screens behind them Jayden ran down the hallways taking out Oracle operatives as he made his way to their location. Ben turned and walked through the hatch, "This time Jayden...there will not be any interruptions," he said.
