Lumina stood between her and the demon. The Nightmare slowed just a little but went to raise one of its massive arms in what looked like an attempt at crushing the goddess and the half-demon both.

Lumina didn't falter. She raised a hand up herself and as the demon tried to slam her, a white barrier appeared between them. When the demon touched it, white sparks flew out, and Ash saw the barrier crack.

Seeing this, she tried to get back on her feet, but her body wouldn't listen. As she coughed up some more blood, she took strained breaths while Lumina stared the Nightmare down.

However, as confident as she was standing, Ash noticed something. Her arm was trembling. The Nightmare raised its hands up and slammed down on it again and those cracks turned into an entire web.

Lumina took a step back and even to Ash, from below, she looked shaken. Stunned.
