Moon's Embrace

EXCERPT: A letter to Moon Moriarty… "Just like the kingdom where I was given another life, you came and gave me another ray of hope. If you are reading this letter, then I must be long gone from this world, but I want you to know I am still with you. I left a flower in your hands. Please water it and help it grow and spring out in a beautiful way. I hope you will be reminded of me whenever you see her. I want you to train her not in the way we know of, but in the way we would have wanted to live. Help her live a royal life but do not involve her in royalty, for there lies the evil things we may never know of. I know you went to create a world we could live in peacefully and in love, and now, our daughter will be the one to enjoy most of it. Also, I would love if you can take a trip to where we first met. There, I will be waiting for you. In my next life, I will choose you all over again and by then, I hope we meet in different circumstances. I love you. Till we meet again." __Genevieve This is a heart-wrenching tale of sacrifice, resilience and bittersweet romance. This is my WSA 2024 Entry. Support this book with your votes, reviews and comments.

Empathy, not love

Eve left the house early as usual and she filled water into a wooden pail before carrying it along with her. She went to the garden and dropped the wooden pail before making her way through the path that led to the river. As she made her way there, she could feel the slight cold wind that blew in her direction and she released a breath. When she neared the riverside, she stopped walking and looked at the figure that sat on the grass, staring at the river.

She stood behind and also looked at the river before she returned her eyes back to the person.

"Teacher," she called and her eyes remained on him.

Moon let his head down and he sighed before hitting his thighs. He soon stopped and let out another sigh again before getting up to his feet.

Eve wondered what was wrong with him. He didn't seem like someone who has got his bearing early in the morning. He didn't seem...fine.
