Remaining still, he surveyed the surroundings with a mixture of caution and frustration. The village's streets had transformed into a battlefield, a theater of calculated moves and dangerous counterattacks. Every step seemed laden with potential danger, as he was acutely aware that the villagers might have laid traps designed to hinder his movements or catch him off guard.
While Kane was thinking, the mages seized their opportunity to cast some magic spells and soon earth spikes emerged from the ground and tried to impale him.
