We see Maxwell and Jarvis as they were walking down the street.
Their were as neither of them said a word.
Maxwell glanced at Jarvis, trying to break the silence. "So, uh, how long have you lived here?"
Jarvis shrugged, still looking ahead. "All my life. Aisiki Town's been home since forever."
Maxwell nodded, looking around at the bustling streets. "It seems... different from what I expected."
Jarvis smirked. "Yeah, it's not every day you see a human in our world. How are you holding up?"
Maxwell chuckled. "It's a lot to take in, but I'm managing. Thanks for showing me around."
Jarvis nodded, his expression softening slightly. "No problem. Just stick close, and you'll be fine."
They suddenly stopped in front of what seemed to be a crime scene. A shop lay in ruins, shattered glass and debris scattered across the ground. The air was thick with tension, and black-clad figures moved methodically around the area. The Rangers, identifiable by their black uniforms and gas masks that concealed their faces, were examining the wreckage.
Maxwell's eyes widened as he felt a pair of unseen eyes locking onto him. One of the Rangers was staring directly at him, their mask giving away nothing of their intentions.
Jarvis noticed the interaction and quickly took Maxwell's arm. "Let's get out of here," he whispered urgently, pulling him away from the scene.
--
Later, as they walked away from the crime scene, Maxwell couldn't shake the feeling of unease. "What was that...?" he asked, glancing back over his shoulder.
Jarvis sighed. "Those were the Rangers. I guess someone already explained their... questionable sense of justice to you?"
"Yeah," Maxwell replied. "I guess so. But seeing them up close was something else."
Jarvis nodded. "They can be pretty intense. Best to avoid them if you can."
"Say...where are we going?" Maxwell asked.
Jarvis smiled. "The park, of course."
They both suddenly stopped as they looked at the park. It was almost the same as a normal park in the human world, with lush green grass, trees, and benches. Families and individuals were scattered around, some picnicking, others playing games or simply enjoying the day.
Maxwell couldn't help but feel a sense of familiarity mixed with the oddity of being in a completely different world. "It feels so...normal," he remarked.
Jarvis chuckled. "Yeah, it's one of the few places that feels like a bit of home. A good place to relax and clear your head."
Maxwell: So...can you tell me more about yourself?
Jarvis look at him in suprise "Me? Well...I'm just an average wolf who just graduate from high school and manage to get a decent job."
Maxwell nodded, curious. "What do you do for work?"
Jarvis shrugged. "I work at a tech repair shop. Fixing gadgets, computers, that kind of stuff. It's not glamorous, but it pays the bills."
Maxwell smiled. "That's cool. You must be good with your hands."
Jarvis chuckled. "Yeah, I guess you could say that. What about you? What's your story?"
Maxwell hesitated for a moment. "It's...complicated. I used to be human, but now I'm here, trying to figure things out."
Jarvis raised an eyebrow. "That's a pretty wild story. Must be tough adjusting."
Maxwell sighed. "Yeah, it is. But I'm trying to make the best of it."
Maxwell looked down at his bracelet and sighed. "And...trying to find more answers."
Jarvis glanced at him. "So... what do you do?"
Maxwell smiled faintly. "Just like you, I'm a guy who just graduated. I want to become a mangaka."
Jarvis raised an eyebrow in surprise. "Oh, so you're an artist?"
"A little bit of a newbie," Maxwell said, pulling out his phone to show some of his art. The screen displayed a well-detailed forest scenery.
Jarvis's eyes widened. "That is definitely not a newbie level."
Maxwell blushed slightly at the compliment. "Thanks. I've been practicing for years, but there's still so much to learn."
Jarvis nodded appreciatively. "Well, if your goal is to become a mangaka, I'd say you're on the right track. Your work is impressive."
Maxwell looked out at the park, thinking about everything that had happened since he arrived in this world. "I guess I'm pretty lucky to have met all of you. Even if this place is a bit... chaotic."
Jarvis laughed. "Chaotic is putting it mildly. But you'll get used to it. Just remember to keep an eye out for those rangers. They can be a real pain."
Maxwell nodded, recalling the intense gaze of the ranger earlier. "Yeah, I noticed. Thanks for the heads-up."
They sat in comfortable silence for a moment, watching the people in the park go about their day. Maxwell felt a sense of peace he hadn't experienced since arriving in this strange world. Despite the dangers and uncertainties, there was something oddly comforting about knowing he wasn't alone.
"Say... about those rangers, what exactly happened?" Maxwell asked, his curiosity piqued.
Jarvis looked at him thoughtfully. "Well... a lot. You know, the rangers weren't always like this."
Maxwell leaned in, eager to hear more. "What do you mean?"
Jarvis sighed, putting his phone away. "They used to be a force for good, keeping the peace and protecting the citizens. But over time, something changed. They became more aggressive, more controlling. Now, they enforce their own twisted version of justice, and it's not pretty."
Maxwell frowned. "What caused the change?"
"No one really knows," Jarvis replied, his expression darkening. "Some say it was corruption from within. Others think they made a deal with dark forces. Whatever it was, they became ruthless. One wrong move, and they can make your life a living hell."
Maxwell shivered at the thought. "That sounds... terrifying."
Jarvis nodded. "It is. A friend of mine, just a regular guy, got caught up in their web. He made a mistake, and they came down on him hard. He lost everything: his job, his home, even his family. All because he crossed them."
Maxwell looked down, feeling a mix of fear and determination. "We have to be careful, then. But there has to be a way to stop them."
Jarvis sighed. "Maybe. But it won't be easy. They have power, and they know how to use it. We just have to stay under their radar and hope for the best."
Maxwell nodded, understanding the gravity of the situation. "Thanks for telling me, Jarvis. I'll be careful."
Jarvis smiled faintly. "No problem, Max. Just watch your back, okay? We don't know what type of thing could hap--"
BOOM!!!
