Meeting Sheldon for the first time

Today is my first day at Caltech.

Mom is currently driving me to school.

"Are you really sure I shouldn't go with you?"

I turned to the side and saw her worried face.

"No need Mom. This is Caltech, not a community college", I tried to calm her down.

"Ok, dear. You call me on your phone if you want to get driven home, ok?", Mom said still worried kissing me on my head.

"Okay, bye Mom", I said hugging her.

I may not have said it, but I am still nervous. This is college. 

My biggest question right now is

"Will I find someone with capabilities near mine?"

I walked into the school campus and earned quite some stares due to my young age.

I went towards the room where all the staff advisors and helpers were. 

They were there to help the new people show everyone and help them move into their dorms.

I have gotten my own dorm of course.

I don't intend to use it for living though. It will be used as a laboratory.

I walked towards the sign where people held the names of the people they were receiving.

Soon I saw my name.

"I can't believe the Headmaster thought there would be someone comparable to me in intelligence. He even forced me onto him"

"What did he say about the guy"

"That he was just a kid and I shouldn't act like me"

"How old is he?"

"Probably 14 or 15. Way too old to even think about my intelligence"

"You don't know which age he is?"

"Why should I learn his age? I will only see him once in my life"

I looked at the people above the sign and was shocked.

The people arguing are from another TV series I knew from the memories.

One was Dr. Leonard Hofstadter and the other was the famous Dr. Sheldon Cooper.

Both genius with Leonards Iq comparable to mine and Sheldon's intelligence maybe similar to mine. Mine may be even higher.

"What is a kid doing here?", Leonard asked while Sheldon just ignored me.

"I am Gabriel Dunphy. The student", I answered.

"How old are you?", Sheldon immediately asked.

"10"

"Do you have evidence?", Sheldon again immediately asked.

I took out my ID, which we needed to have with us on the first day, and gave it to him.

"True. Seems there is someone even smarter than you Sheldon", Leonard said snickeringly seeing the ID card.

"Hmph", Sheldon just snorted.

"Is he like this every time?", I asked knowingly.

Leonard just nodded.

"Let us play a chess round, " Sheldon suddenly said from the side.

"You don't want to play 3D chess with him, do you?", Leonard asked dumbfoundedly from the side.

"He is just a kid", Leonard added.

I was displeased with him calling me a kid. My maturity and intelligence were far beyond that.

"Intelligence ignores age"

Both me and Sheldon said at the same time.

"Good choice of words", I complimented, and he just nodded.

"I believe you haven't introduced yourselves yet", I mentioned.

"Oh sorry, I am Dr. Leonard Hofstadter"

"I am Dr. Dr. Sheldon Lee Cooper. I have a Bachelor as well as a Master of Science. I have a Doctor of Philosophy and a Doctor of Science", Sheldon introduced himself proudly.

"What is your favorite Philosophical sentence?", I asked him curiously.

"What's the point of living if we're all just going to die in the end"

"I often ponder about this question", Sheldon said.

"What is yours?", Sheldon asked back.

"Cogito Ergo Sum", I introduced my cause of life.

"Very good choice", Sheldon nodded.

Leonard was stunned by the side. He didn't expect that I could talk quite a bit with Sheldon even if I only knew him for this short.

After that, we went to my dorm.

I only put a few blankets and pillows onto the bed. Useless as I would just put the bed away later.

"I will go to the induction ceremony now. I will see you later", I said my goodbyes.

"Bye", Leonard said bye while Sheldon just nodded.

Afterward, I went to a big room for lessons. 

There were already quite a few people there.

About 15 minutes later the headmaster came into the room and started to say some things about school life, for what it is and some boring things.

I couldn't wait to go back and finally take a look at everything.

After half an hour of talking the headmaster was finally finished.

I went back to my dorm and saw Leonard there. Sheldon was nowhere to be seen.

"Where is Dr. Cooper?", I asked Leonard curiously.

"He is bringing his 3D chess from his home. He should be arriving in his laboratory every moment now"

"Let us go", Leonard said looking at his watch.

I nodded and followed him. We soon arrived at some laboratories.

We went through quite a few and finally arrived at the laboratories of all physicists.

"This is Sheldon's laboratory", Leonard said while opening the door.

"It looks good", I said while looking around. The good wasn't about the looks. It was about the equipment.

"I know", Sheldon said from behind carrying his chess board with him.

He put the chessboard on a table and sat opposite clearly inviting me to a match.

I sat down opposite him and agreed, therefore.

We didn't talk and just concentrated on the game.

Sheldon may have a higher IQ, but my intelligence was better.

I formulated all the ways Sheldon could go in a moment in my brain and let the imaginary chessboard overlay with the real one.

I already calculated all the possibilities of every move Sheldon would make and let it appear in front of me in numbers per hundred(%).

This was done in only a moment.

I followed all the movements. Some were wrong as there of course is no 100% chance for everything to be successful, but most of them were true.

I easily defeated Sheldon.

"Checkmate"

"Impossible"

"Impossible"

Both were saying the same thing. Sheldon couldn't believe he would be beaten in a match of chess and Leonard couldn't believe Sheldon was beaten.

After that I saw Sheldon seeming to be more talkative.

~It seems he recognizes my intelligence~, I thought to myself.

After that, I called my mother to pick me up and she did.

"How was school dear? Nothing happened right?", Mom asked with concern.

"No, but I found some interesting people", I answered honestly.

"You found friends?", Mom asked happily.

I didn't answer.

My mom thought of this as a yes and hugged me.

But my thoughts were elsewhere. 

I looked out of the window and thought

~Will I be friends with them?~

I thought about adding Young Paige. She never appeared in TBBT. I thought this way she could integrate into the group and the actress also looks pretty good. (I am younger than the actress.)

Should I add her?
