There were plenty of people who went missing in the recent years. Alex decided to go and speak with the families of the recent ones.
One of the families was situated near the forest. It was a farm, so it needed the space for the crops and the animals.
When Alex explained the reason he was there, the father of the missing girl yelled, "She disappeared two months ago, and now you are here? Why didn't you come when we ask for help in the first days!?"
The anger was evident, and Alex didn't say a word, letting the man talk all of his feelings out. His wife came, touching his shoulder, "Calm down, husband. They are adventurers, and not investigators or soldiers from the kingdom."
She was right about it. The kingdom was supposed to send help, and for some reason, they did not. Alex had nothing to do with it.
The man sat on a wooden chair and grabbed a cup of water, "I am sorry lad. My nerves got the best of me..."
