Chapter 3

A black luxurious car was parked just outside the restaurant. Mo Luhan walked over and the driver who stood waiting by the back door quickly opened the door. "Young Master."

Back inside the private room of the restaurant, Lin Yun Xi finished eating. She looked around the empty room and was a bit confused. She quickly shifted through the events that had happened and led up to this moment and tried to remember her original intention. However, everything was lost in a jumbled mess of noise. Then she remembered she picked up a wallet and suddenly she remembered why she was here. But as she looked around the empty room, the young man wasn't here anymore.

She then opened the wallet and looked at the identity card. "Mo Luhan. Date of birth: 1994-04-14..." She picked up her phone and searched the web. She found several news articles, and one in particular stood out. It was an article from five years ago about the inauguration of the new CEO of the Mo Corporation. The article was espousing details about how the young heir Mo Luhan was the new handsome hotshot and the new number one of handsome CEOs. She then browsed to the Mo Corporation's website and finally found the address of their head office. It was only a five minute drive away from her current location. She typed it in on her navigation app and then pulled the hoodie over her head and stood up and exited the restaurant.

Once outside she followed the arrow on the navigation app, never once bothering to look up to see where she was actually going. Her senses were so acute that her peripheral vision and hearing was enough for her to avoid any obstacles or know when to stop and begin moving as she crossed the roads. And keeping her attention to the arrow limited the overwhelming noise that constantly bombarded her mind.

About thirty minutes later she arrived at a tall building of steel and mirrored glass windows.

"You've arrived at your destination." A female voice said from her phone.

She looked around and was immediately bombarded with noisy information, 960 windows, four doors, 512 feet tall...

She bit her lower lip and walked inside and saw a large hall with marble floor. There was a wide reception desk behind which stood three receptionists who were currently gossiping. On each side of the wide reception desk were gates which led to the elevators. To her right was a waiting area with several couches and tables.

She didn't want to bother the receptionists who looked busy and instead went to the waiting area and sat down on the couch. Then she tried to block out the noise as she picked up her phone and began playing a puzzle game.

About thirty minutes later, one of the receptionists noticed the girl in a hoodie sitting by the waiting area. She turned toward the other girls and spoke quietly, "Who is that girl? She's been sitting there waiting for almost an hour. Did she ask anyone of you anything?"

The other two girls glanced over to the waiting area and then shook their heads.

The receptionist harrumphed coldly then said, "Looking at how she's dressed she must be another stalker of our handsome CEO? Remember that girl from last week who had to be forcefully removed from the building by security guards?" She harrumphed again. "I'll go over and tell her to leave!"

The two other girls looked worried. When one of them said, "Don't be so quick, maybe she knows someone who works here and is just waiting for them. It's almost five o clock and the work time is soon over."

However, the receptionist didn't believe them. She was already convinced by her own conclusion. "Just wait and see." She snided and walked around the reception desk and moved over to the waiting area.

Lin Yun Xi was busy playing a puzzle game on her phone when among the noise she heard someone rudely and loudly say, "What are you doing here? Don't you know you're disturbing our work place?"

Without looking away from the phone as she didn't need the additional noise, Lin Yun Xi quietly said, "I'm waiting."

The rude receptionist harrumphed coldly. "Waiting for who? If it's our CEO, he doesn't need your 'kind' waiting on him!"

Lin Yun Xi was confused by what the receptionist was saying and didn't know how to respond so she just ignored her and said nothing at all.

Seeing the girl ignore her, the receptionist face suddenly turned red with anger and stomped her foot angrily. "Leave! Or I will call security to drag you out!" Her voice was so loud it echoed in the hall.

Several random passerbyes stopped and turned their heads to see what was going on. When they saw the rude receptionist standing akimbo in front of a girl who was playing with her phone in a hoodie, they just shook their heads knowingly. As if this scene had happened many times before. They silently lamented at their CEO's attractiveness.

As if having eyes in the back of her head, the receptionist was encouraged by their silent approval and reached forward and was about to grab the girl and throw her out all by herself when someone suddenly grabbed her arm instead and janked her away.

"What are you doing?" A man's voice rumbled behind the receptionist head.

The hand grasping her arm was like a steel clamp and it almost caused her to cry out in pain when she turned around and was about to tell the man off. But when she saw who the man was, her knees buckled and she almost fell to the floor from fright.

The man threw away her arm as if it was a disgusting rat and stepped over to the girl in a hoodie. Then his voice turned warm and gentle, which surprised the many onlookers. "Are you okay? Did she hurt you?" He asked as he crouched down to her level and reached out to gently pat her head.

Lin Yun Xi heard the familiar voice and looked up toward the man and once again when their eyes met her mind went completely blank and her heart went thump.

"D-do you know her?" The receptionist asked. She didn't know where the words came from or how she gained the courage, but something about his gentleness toward the girl caused her to feel a tremendous sense of jealousy.

Without looking away from Lin Yun Xi's eyes he said with full confidence, "She's my girlfriend."
