Their suspicion were true, every week she would spend a few hours on analyzing various news reports, company press releases, and other sources of information to see if there were any foreign intelligence movement or involvement and then at the end of the week she would write down a report and send it to her operator in the national security agency. But she only spent a few hours a week on it, and the pay wasn't that great, so at most it could count as a part-time job. It really wasn't anything special about it. However, she did gain a little fame among the top figures within the agency after discovering an assassination plot of an allied figure of power, which was probably why Mu Guang recognized her.
However, she couldn't reveal anything about this and instead decided to tell them about her hobby project, which was developing various puzzle games.
She picked up her phone and made a few taps before she showed it to everyone. "I made this game."
When they saw her showing her game they just casually glanced at it but still showed smiles. They didn't know much about the gaming industry as they were still stuck in the 'old fashioned' type of business.
"W-what!? You made that game?" Mo Luhan's little sister suddenly exclaimed loudly, which caught everyone's attention.
"Sweetheart, you know that game?" Su Wang asked her daughter.
"Mom! Everyone at school is playing that game." Then she picked up her own phone and tapped a few times, then showed the screen of the game's app store page to everyone. "Look, it has over 300 million downloads."
"Is that good?" Su Wang asked, wrinkling her brows in puzzlment.
"Mom, are you kidding me. Imagine if everyone who downloaded the game spent one dollar on average on it, then sister-in-law is frigging rich!" Mo Ling Ling exclaimed.
Everyone gasped in surprise.
Then Mo Ling Ling tapped a few times more on her phone then she excitedly said, "Look, that's not the only game she's made. She also made this one which has over 125 million downloads, and this one which has 97 million downloads, and this one which has 30 million downloads."
By now everyone only saw money and more money falling before their eyes. Of course, what they didn't know was that all her games were free to download and had micro-payments within them, so on average she actually made a lot more than a dollar per download.
Su Wang's mouth fell agape as she thought about it. Not even her own son had made that much money. Of course he had several hundred millions in stock, but that had been gifted to him or was his inheritance from his grandparents or relatives. As for the money he made, well his job as a CEO earned him a little over a million a month. But even if had saved all those millions the past five years he had worked, it was still nowhere close to a few hundred million.
"Sister-in-law, how much money do you have?" Mo Ling Ling asked.
Su Wang suddenly snapped out of it when she heard this question and was about to tell her daughter it was rude to ask such question, plus she was afraid Lin Yun Xi would actually answer it honestly. But she was too late.
Lin Yun Xi said, "I have 3 billion, 243 million, and 324 thousands, and 32 cents in liquid assets."
The room fell eerily quiet. It was like the aftermath of a bomb exploding.
Mo Luhan was just about to take a sip of water when the glass jerked and he almost missed his mouth. However, he quickly collected himself and smiled gently. He was really surprised and happy for her.
Mo Ling Ling looked like she'd just suffered a stroke. But quickly snapped out of it. "Sister-in-law, can you buy me an island?"
Su Wang began coughing loudly. What was this rabid daughter of hers saying?
"Okay." Lin Yun Xi said, sounding completely serious.
Mo Luhan gently held her hand and squeezed it. "Don't do that. It will spoil her."
Su Wang finally let out a deep breath of air. Thank goodness for her son. Her own mind was spinning so fast she couldn't get a word out. Now that she finally had a chance to say something she did. "Sweetheart, don't be rude and in the future don't ask Xi'er to buy you expensive things or I will spank you!"
Mo Ling Ling stuck out her tongue at her mother. Then she jumped off her chair and ran over to Lin Yun Xi and embraced her. "Sister-in-law, you don't have to buy me anything as long as you become my real sister-in-law." She said and looked up and blinked her eyes.
Su Wang wanted to slap her own face hearing this.
"Okay." Lin Yun Xi said.
And once again the room fell into silence. What did she mean? She was prepared to marry Mo Luhan? Wasn't this too fast? And why was she agreeing to everything that naughty child said? Was she serious? If so, wasn't there a big concern someone might want to take advantage of her?
Su Wang cast a worried look at Lin Yun Xi then she looked at her son.
As if he read his mother's mind he said, "Don't worry, mom." Though he believe Lin Yun Xi was serious about everything she said, he wasn't worried that anyone would take advantage of her. If that was the case it would've happened a long time ago and her father wouldn't have such a carefree attitude. Which made him curious, what would happen if she did meet such a person? Would he see a side of her he hadn't seen yet? Upon thinking along this train of thought he quickly stopped himself, he didn't want anything bad to happen to her, and he would do everything in his power so that she could continue living a carefree life.
After this little scenario the discussions soon moved away from Lin Yun Xi and to other subjects.
After having dessert, the Mu Guang decided it was time for them to leave and say their goodbyes. However, his daughter was reluctant and he was almost forced to drag her out.
Meanwhile, Lin Yun Xi and Mo Luhan had landed on the couch in the living room and his naughty little sister had fallen asleep, resting her head in Lin Yun Xi's lap.
"Is she bothering you?" Mo Luhan asked, he had long ago noticed her slight aversion to physical touch.
Lin Yun Xi shook her head and stroked the little girl's hair gently. She liked children the most, despite them often being more touchy-feely and louder than adults. Her world was constantly filled with noise, but there was good noise and bad noise and when it came to children it was most often the former type, and as for the man beside her, he also belonged to that category. Then she leaned against his shoulder and closed her eyes and soon drifted off into sleep.
Su Wang was about to enter the living room and give them some sliced fruits when she saw this harmonious scene and decided to quietly back out. On her way she grabbed her husband's collar and dragged him away with her as he was about to enter the living room too.
