##Chapter 39 The New Director

Nathan grabbed Sharon's hand and walked to his Rolls-Royce. They got in the car and drove down to Ginder Manor.

It was very complicated in Sharon's heart. Recently, she had learned much in the workplace. She didn't know whether Sophie would live a happy and wonderful life that Sharon had never experienced.

But she believed that she could keep going with a strong will and with the help of the tough time she had come through.

"Here we are."

Sharon got off the car after Nathan, "I'm Sophie now," she looked at herself and thought.

They walked into the hall of the Ginder Manor and found lots of people had already arrived. Nathan and Sophie had drawn much attention.

People wondered what kind of woman could attract Nathan and made him hold such a big party to celebrate.

They also felt it was a great honor to be invited to the party by the Genui Group's CEO.

"Is that the new director?"

"Yes. I heard that she studied aboard. She looks different."

"The CEO thinks highly of her. She must be smart and pretty. After all, Nathan holds the party for her."

Sharon walked through the crowd with Nathan. People were talking about her. They thought that she was brilliant and might have a relationship with Nathan.

"I feel that she looks like... Oh, no."

Renata mumbled to Marvin and stared at Sharon and Nathan.

At that moment, Renata felt jealous and was upset. She thought that she could have a chance to encounter Nathan and made him fall in love with her, but she never expected Sophie's appearance. It would be much tougher then.

"Do you mean... She looks like Sharon?"

Marvin also looked at Sophie all the time, and he realized she was strange. "She closely resembles Sharon," he thought.

"Yeah. But Sharon doesn't have Sophie's wisdom and temperament. It seems Sophie is prettier than Sharon."

Marvin didn't know why he started to get nervous. He sighed, "Well, let's just believe they just looked like each other."

Nathan held Sharon's hand and walked to the stage. All the guests were looking at them.

Sharon smiled and gently looked at the audience. She held Nathan's arm and felt everything was new to her. She was full of curiosity.

"May I have your attention, please. Welcome to the party, my dear friends. Today, I want to introduce Sophie, the new director of the Genui Group. She had just come back from studying abroad. We graduated from the same college. In the future, you may have a collaboration with her. I hope you can get along with my new colleague."

Nathan gave the microphone to Sharon after his speaking. He looked at her with a gentle smile.

"Schoolmates? Thank god, I still have a chance," Renata thought.

"They graduated from the same college? Wow, it seems that she's a talented girl," people were talking about her.

"I'm Sophie. Thanks for your coming today. I'm very glad to join the Genui Group. I'm just so happy when Nathan invited me to be here. I hope I can collaborate with all you guys well in the future."

Sharon spoke gently but confidently. She looked like the kind of girl who grew up in a noble family and read a lot of books. Her movement was elegant and charming.

"Ms. Sophie, where are you from? And will you develop a relationship with Mr. Harris?"

It caused a stir and that was exactly the question everyone wanted to know the answer to.

They wanted to know if it was possible that Sophie became Mrs. Harris, so they would know in what way they collaborated with her.

"Thanks for you caring about me. I guess now the most important thing for me is working. Nathan was an outstanding businessman. I don't know what will happen in the future. But I'm glad that I've met him and we have studied for three years together."

"Three years? That's long enough,"

Renata thought and felt jealous.

"Ms. Sophie, are you native? You haven't answered the question."

Nathan looked at her carefully. Sharon remembered the data that Nathan gave to her and felt not good.

"I'm an orphan... And it's Nathan's father who finances me all the time. So... I really appreciate that the Harris family could help me, and contributing my intelligence to the company is my way to express my gratitude."

Sharon was sentimental at that moment. Nathan turned around and put his hand on her shoulder to relieve her. He smiled at her and Sharon nodded quietly.

Nathan took over the microphone and looked at the audience. He sighed and his eyes expressed a little misery.

"Well, it's Sophie's private life. We should respect her privacy. Okay, now let's just enjoy the time."

After Nathan's speaking, he brought Sophie to meet the top executives.

"I guess they are much closer. The Harris family financed her all the time? She lost her parents, so is it possible that they regard her as a family member?"

Renata talked about Sophie with Marvin. She didn't like her because she was too close to Nathan.

"No, I don't think they are in a relationship. They studied together for three years. If they fell in love, they must have engaged now."

Renata looked at Marvin surprisingly. It seemed that she had hope again.

"So..."

"Whatever... At least Sharon is out."

"Dad, you think too much. Sharon has been burned to death. Haven't you watched the report? It said that a woman lived alone and a fire was caused by the gas explosion while cooking. They found a corpse on the scene. It was around twenty. I'm sure she had died. I've seen it myself."

Renata remembered what happened then. Sharon was in the room, shouting and screaming. She didn't have a chance to live from that explosion.

Marvin relieved and nodded with a smile, "She must have died. I think too much."

Sharon talked elegantly to the top executives with Nathan. She was confident and they all knew that she was an ambitious woman.

Marvin smiled and thought if Sharon had Sophie's ability and intelligence, she would not end up so miserably.

"Do you need a rest?"

Nathan and Sharon found a place to sit down. Sharon shook her head.

"Did I behave well?"
