Corruption

Evil Biomes.

A setting I learned that came from Terraria had been attributed to any other terrain's that naturally spread with...

Not so great results.

An example of that would be the sight in front of me.

A purplish haze that permeated the air that the Purplish plants put out from the Purplish ground that continued to spread with the help of the purple monsters.

Yeah.

If you couldn't tell yet.

The corruption was just incredibly purple.

Slicing the head off of a flying monster called the devourer that burst out of the ground.

A worm of incredible proportions.

I used the Katana in my other hand to send a flying Air cutter against the

A monster created by corruption that naturally flew and spread corruption powder all over the place.

Placing the blade back into the inventory I continued my journey.

Apparently Sky who's gender was still unknown.

Had business in the nearby fortress that was focused on battling in the front lines.

So currently I was following Sky on their journey to said fortress while cutting apart any monsters that got in our way.

And in doing so tested various weaponry against them.

'So I attack like this... No... Is it like this...?'

Manipulating Code 1, a yo-yo that was blue with the number 1 on it by the strings.

I watched as the spinning blue yo-yo tore through a corrupted adventurer like a knife through butter.

Not as fast as a hot knife through butter, but still decently fast.

Watching me from the side with a fervent gaze Sky suddenly asked with a question coming from the left side.

"How do you manipulate the Yo-yo like that with such ease?"

"Hm?"

Hearing that question that was like a bolt from the blue I curiously glanced at Sky while glancing at my sync rate that had stagnated.

"What do you mean?"

"Well..." Waving their hands around in my general direction Sky continued.

"How do you... Wait let me rephrase my question"

Ahem

Patiently waiting for said explanation, the words coming out of their mouth made me have to question some things.

"I have seen many people in my time as a wandering merchant, which wasn't a short time mind you"

"And in that time I had seen Adventurers, Mercenaries, Magicians, Thieves, Merchants, Knights and more!"

Exaggeratedly moving their arms they continued.

"But in my travels, I have seen several masters of their craft, but only one, was a master of the Yo-yo"

Furrowing my brows I replied "That can't be right, the yo-yo should be easy to use should it not?'

"Well it really isnt that easy as you make it out to be, it is easy to pick up but once you do, it's very hard to master"

Shaking their head and looking at me with slightly confused blue eyes "Of course that isn't to say that mastering anything is easy but..."

"Yo-yo's are on the harder side to master?"

"Exactly"

Snapping their fingers, we continued to walk across the borders of the corrupted biome while slaughtering everything in our way.

Thank God (Literally) that I could automatically harvest things just by going near them.

"But you..." Furrowing their brows "you are an anomaly"

"Hahaha" rubbing my head, I switched out of the yo-yo and started to fire the gray zapinator and felt my mana drain away.

"Thanks"

"No" shaking their hand the merchant named sky stared directly into my soul while speaking. "You seem to be underestimating yourself"

"Once I first saw you, I thought you were a master of the sword since you were at least a gold rank adventurer, that being... A rank I think"

Pausing to think about what they said, Sky nodded and continued with their words.

"But now that I see it..."

Watching me blast the gray zapinator flippantly.

The laser beams going around crazily without order and generally causing chaos while doing their job in ridding all my enemies.

"You seem to be a master of more than the sword and it seems to be your first time using the yo-yo and gun"

Glancing at me they smirked as they saw my dumbfounded face.

"And it seems that you don't know how special you are"

Hearing those words I fell deep into thought.

'Am I really that powerful?'

Thinking back I had quickly climbed the rankings of the Adventurers guild by defeating a Boss ranked monster and making big contributions against the goblin wave.

I also beat up the supervisors in the small city of Tinell.

But I didnt feel pressured against them and the people of Tinell only praised me for a little bit before the game died down.

I felt a little pressure when faced against the Eye of Cthulhu but thats it.

'So am I really strong?' falling into thought, we continued our steps as I fired the zapinator every few moments my mana regenerated.

Using the Lights bane and Katana for any monsters that closer than should be.

Seeing this sight, Sky, the Wandering Merchant sighed as they saw the extremely powerful adventurer fall into a dilemma.

'Hah~, seems like he doesn't believe me'

Fiddling with the revolver resting on their waist.

'Makes sense though' Glancing at the confused Slade they thought.

'If I hadn't seen it in front of my eyes I wouldn't have believed it either'

Smirking Sky turned their blue eyes to the horizon.

'It seems that the world is wider than I once thought'

Thinking that, their steps on the road heading to the Fortress quickened.

"What do you mean you can't find him!" A fat jiggly young man shouted loudly as they slammed the desk with their fist.

"Than why am I even paying you!?"

A figure in a large billowing cloam kneeled to the fat man as they continued to rage loudly.

"How hard is it to find one man that is B RANKED!"

Throwing a bottle of wine at the cloaked figure, the glass bottle shattered against the head of the cloaked figure.

Causing wine to splash everywhere and dirty the floor, but even then the cloaked figure didn't react.

"Now see what you've done" Gesturing at the dirty floor he shouted "You made me dirty the floor"

"Make sure you get one of the maids to clean this up later"

Glaring at the cloaked figure with near unbridled fury the man waved his hand.

"Now leave, I don't want you in my sights until you bring back the man who stole the things that are rightfully mine."

Nodding at those words the cloaked figure leaving behind the angry fat boy to his devices.

Fuming inside the man thought to himself. 'I will get my hands on the man who had the gall to steal the vine rune that was so rightfully mine'

The man was the young master and son of the current mayor and currently he fumed over the loss over his supposed personal items.

Angrily fuming in his seat the boy looked around the room that was hidden underneath the mansion he lived in.

Getting up from his seat the man moved to an alcove that was put off to the side and looked proudly at the monstrosity within.

Several skulls with their names drawn in blood were placed in a circular fashion as a black skull sat in the middle of the circle of bones.

Several treasures that were things that some would recognize to be the ones that had appeared in the auction house littered the spots between the skulls.

A pentagram drawn of blood sat in the middle of the room.

Grinning madly he looked up as his eyes took in the large painting of some unspeakable horror on the ceiling.

Black skulls with white eyes stared down at him as the painting seemed to influence the soul causing a madness to appear in his eyes.

'Once I get my hands on the power of the vine rune dwelling within the man, and even better if it's unused'

'Soon the Nether will extend it's reach here and I will be able to kill everyone standing in my way'

Hot breaths left his mouth as he sunk into his own delusions of grandeur.

Imagining a future where he was sitting on a throne of gold and diamonds while being served by several beautiful women.

Overlooking the supposed future path if the Nether were to win.

Flames of carnage and chaos being spread across the landscape as the heat of hell reached through the skies.

It than turned dark as he turned back to the alcove and walked back to the hidden room underneath the mansion.

'That's only if my useless subordinates can find that bastard'

Mood ruined the man walked out of the room hoping to find some poor maid to vent his frustrations on.
