The pain will soon be over
Mum patted her hands fondly. "How are you so sure Peter has stopped his erratic cheating behavior? When he came to me 2 days ago, looking all sober and gentle, I knew it was all facade. Please, Myra, reconsider the marriage for the sake of your future happiness."
Myra was drawn to tears by the amount of concern her mother had for her.
"I didn't like the fact that you accepted his proposal, that was why I threatened to come to visit you if you don't arrive this weekend."
"Oh, Mum." She sobbed.
"Why are you crying?"
"Mum-" Myra narrated all that happened between Peter and her between tears.
"The last time he came to harass me, I threatened to get a restraining order against him." She concluded.
"It's okay, dear." Mum pulled her into an embrace. "I'm glad you found out his true colors on time."
"But, I love him so much. It hurts, after all, I did for him, he ended up betraying me again."
