Gratitude

Myra quickly untangled herself from Kevin when the lift's door opened. No one was down the hall, but he still tried to hold her waist.

"Let go of me, Kevin. Someone might walk up here and see us." Myra pleaded with a cute look.

Kevin stepped away from her reluctantly. "I just like being near you, that's all."

At that exact moment, Christ came walking up from the other end of the hall.

Myra sighed in relief. If he'd come into view just a second earlier, it would have been hard to explain what Kevin's hands were doing around her waist.

They stepped out of the lift and Christ got up to them faster than expected.

"I see that you're back." His face contorted into a deep frown as he stared down at Myra. "The sight of you irks me."

Myra gave him her sweetest smile ever. "I'm here now, so you have to deal with it. Sir." She cocked her brows.
