Myra got to Kevin's home in less than 30 minutes. She found him seated at the kitchen table, wrapped in a thick blanket and staring at his phone.
He snapped his head up when he heard the sound of her feet. "Oh, darling, you're here." His face was a bit pale and withdrawn and his lips were quivering.
Myra dropped her bag and walked up to him, placing her hands on his shoulder. "How was your night? Did you sleep well?"
A huge grin formed at the corner of his mouth. "I dreamt of you." He pulled her closer to sit on his laps.
"Really?" Myra smiled, caressing his face. She flinched when she felt his temperature, he was really burning a high fever.
"You have a fever, Kevin. What are you doing sitting here? And why are you wrapped in such a thick blanket?"
"Ah," Kevin tried to smile. "My room is too cold, so I decided to come here for a while." He gestured to the heater.
He'd also closed all the curtains to prevent the heat from escaping.
