Apprehended
Myra sat beside Kevin on the sofa, her heart beating fast in anticipation and worry.
Kevin looked up from his phone with a frown.
"What's wrong?" She asked. "Please tell me the truth."
Kevin glanced at her with some emotion akin to sympathy. "It seems Robert found a way to escape from Steven's men."
"What?" She bit her lips in worry.
"Everything would be fine, Myra. I promise." Kevin reached out to pat her hands, but it only did a little to reduce her anxiety.
They were at a restaurant waiting for Steven to announce the final result of the investigation when he arrives.
Her fate would be decided in the next one hour- if she would be able to return to her normal life or not.
What would happen if something else forestalled the investigation? Or if they don't find any convincing evidence?
Would she continue her life with smeared name?
Even if she goes to live in another state, it would still be hard to find a good job.
