Pakura was a bit bewildered as she gazed at the broken Kunai in her hands and before she knew it she was in a dark and murky place.
" What?!"
" Where are we? "
" What the hell is that? A S-Shrine ? "
Pakura heard all kinds of angry and fearful shouts from her enemies.
' A Shrine?' Pakura was confused, she didn't know what was happening. Was she hallucinating while she was at death's door or was she already dead and this is some kind of dream in the afterlife?
She even felt like she heard that annoying heartless bastard's voice, or was she that desperate for him that she would hear his voice when she was about to die?
Pakura's whole body hurt as she was trembling a bit, she was finding it very hard to stand as her body was getting weaker. She was swaying a bit before she fell backwards. But as she was falling she seemed to have heard some surprised shouts and screams which only lasted for a few seconds before it was quiet. Pakura thought it was just her imagination.
But before her body could hit the ground she was pulled into a warm embrace as a familiar scent hit her nose and she heard that annoying voice she missed and craved the past whole month.
" Geez~ What would you do without me~ " Itsuki said with a helpless smile as he gazed at the stunned Pakura who was looking at him in disbelief.
Slowly tears started forming in her eyes, as they started flowing down her cheeks as she bit her lips while staring at him with grievance.
Pakura buried her face against his chest as she started wailing.
Itsuki just hugged her comfortingly while he let her pour out all her grievances...
...
" O-Oh No! M-Maki, she's in danger! " Pakura after calming down got excited as she struggled in his embrace.
" I took care of it, she is currently safe " Itsuki said in a calm tone while trying to placate the excited Pakura.
" I-Is that so..." Pakura calmed down after hearing his words and leaned against his chest while she held his hand...
...
Pakura thought about many complicated things, most of them sad and depressing but Itsuki's warm embrace helped a lot.
She felt bitter, she still couldn't let it go. The betrayal still stung, in the end, Sunagakure was the place where she was born and brought up, she had dedicated all her life to the village and after what they did she felt as if her heart was being squeezed tight.
It was very painful , she never enjoyed killing but she did it anyway as it was her duty as a Kunoichi of Sunagakure. She justified the lives she took as a necessary sacrifice for the wellbeing of Sunagakure.
It was either her people or them and she chose her people, but now what? Even she was considered worthless by the same village for which she shed tears, sweat and blood.
What was the point of her working so hard if she could be discarded like some piece of trash? Then what was the fate of those common shinobi working so hard for the village, their situation should be even worse than hers, right?
She now had nowhere to go anymore, Sunagakure which was her home for the complete part of her life no longer felt like home. It simply felt dark and sinister.
Pakura felt empty she didn't have any personal goals, and all of her wishes were centered around Sunagakure. She felt lost and confused.
What should she do? Should she go back ?..... No!
Pakura felt nauseous about the thought of even going back, as for revenge she didn't wish for that either. While she was spiralling in her dark thoughts she felt a warm hand squeezing her palms.
Pakura was broken out of her thoughts and looked up to meet Itsuki's concerned gaze and she felt as if the haze was cleared away from her mind.
What was she so worried about, it was not like Sunagakure was the only meaningful thing in her life. Since she no longer had to consider Sunagakure's matters then she was completely free from any and all shackles.
Now she was free to follow her heart.....
.....
Itsuki was a little bit taken aback when he gazed at Pakura who had a relieved smile on her face while she gazed at him a with a serious look in her eyes.
He didn't know why but his 'Itsuki senses' were tingling when he felt her gaze. He didn't know why, but he felt something wrong with her gaze... to be exact it should be like a hungry lioness gazing at prey.
Wait!...when did he become prey he was the Big Bad Wolf!
While he was preoccupied with his thoughts he noticed Pakura's arms circling around his neck as she leaned towards him, he wanted to escape but.... who was he kidding he totally didn't want to escape....
...
After feeling all the shackles around her disappear, Pakura felt more confident in chasing after her happiness. And she was going to do something she wanted do for a long time.
With no Sunagakure in the equation, she felt more confident in coming to terms with her feelings....
She wasn't going to let him escape, she loved him and she was going to make it known to him through her actions. She was going to do things to him that were not suitable for children, which she could only do in her dreams.
Mama was thirsty and she was gonna quench her thirst tonight.....
