Year 51

[Kushina's POV]

It was 7 pm when I returned to my home after catching some fish with Minato, I used my [Adamantine Sealing Chains] while Minato used a kunai attached to a string, we even had a bet on who will catch the most fish and I easily destroyed him, we went a little overboard and caught nearly 200 fishes in which I caught 117 and he got something over 70. After seeing the small number of dead fishes we both laughed at our actions and Minato took some fish for him and sealed the remaining in a scroll to give them to an orphanage.

We later parted ways after that. At present I am making my way towards my bedroom when I heard Mito Oba-San calling me from her room, probably sensing me when I crossed it.

"Come have a talk with me Kushina"

From her tone, It seems to be a serious matter. I changed my path and walked back to her room opened the sliding door and saw her sitting on the edge of her bed while gesturing to me to sit beside her.

"Come sit here"

"Why did you call me Oba-san?" I wanted to know the reason.

"It's about the reason why you were brought here Kushina," she said and signed slightly after seeing me tense up.

"Do you know about the tailed beasts Kushina?"

"Yes! Minato told me about it, They are nine right?" I knew about tailed beasts. They are fully made of chakra and are very powerful. Minato told me about that when we were talking about which was the strongest summoning beast.

"Do you know what a jinchuriki is?"

"What's that"

"A jinchuriki is someone who has a tailed beast sealed inside them, they serve as protection for the village from both the enemies and the tailed beast themself, a jinchuriki can turn the whole tide of the battle within seconds," She said as she started running her fingers through my hair.

"Now don't interrupt me till I am done explaining OK?" She stood up and walked in front of me and raised a barrier around the room from the inside. It seemed to be a barrier that contained chakra inside them. I suddenly got a bad feeling about this.

"I am the jinchuriki of the strongest of all the tailed beasts, The nine-tails," she told as she got covered in a bright yellow cloak made of chakra that flickered-like flames, I was absolutely shocked, if her chakra before this was nearly 7 times larger than mine now it was more than a hundred times larger. And the sheer pressure of her chakra made me tremble. The barriers she made withstood all this pressure without a single crack or damage.

"This is the power jinchuriki can obtain after stealing the chakra from their tailed beasts in exchange for their own chakra"

She came out of whatever that was and the pressure vanished,

"That's so cool Oba-san!"

That really was so cool just imagine being covered in that golden chakra and beating the shit out of the enemies.

As I was imagining that Oba-san came in front of me and kneeled which made our heights the same.

"And you are going to be the next Jinchuriki, Kushina"

"REALLY!!"

I was very happy, I am going to have a power like that!! Haha, Minato's going to cry out of jealousy. I laughed imagining the whining image of Minato.

"You don't understand the seriousness of this"

Oba-san cupped my cheeks in her palms and made me look her in the eyes

"Being a jinchuriki means you wouldn't be able to go out of the village or form a team. You will not be able to leave the village until you are assigned to a mission"

"But I want to do missions with Minato!"

I immediately retaliated as both I and Minato wanted to perform badass missions together. We even made many battle tactics and plans.

"You are the best candidate Kushina, you naturally have high chakra and awakened [Adamantine Sealing Chains] whose sealing ability gets stronger the older one gets, Only you provide the most certainty that nine-tails wouldn't escape the Seal and wreck savage on the village"

"But we wanted to perform missions together!"

"It doesn't mean that you will be separated from each other, you just wouldn't be able to perform missions together"

She said in a soothing tone and patted my hair while my eyes started getting watery and I started getting sad. If Minato is alone performing his missions with his teams he will start to forget about me and stop being my friend.

"Couldn't you wait for another candidate, you can still fight right??"

She sighed after hearing that and told in a low voice

"I don't have much time left in Kushina. Please understand"

"Are you going to die!?!" I knew she was old but her young appearance due to her technique made it very difficult to see her as an old dying woman in her 80s.

"It's natural, we can't change it Kushina and I will leave without any regrets if you choose to sacrifice, I've seen all your talent, you are more gifted than I am. So please do this for me."

She said while getting up and wiping off the tears from my eyes. I don't know what to choose, my happiness or my mother figure's last wish. I stood up and said in a cracked voice.

I walked out of the room and started running out of the house not concentrating on where I was going. My mind was still confused about what to choose. Subconsciously I went to Minato's usual training spot, We hung out here many times, and thinking about that made me smile slightly. It was dark but the moonlight provided some light which made it easier to see. I walked around randomly, wanting to forget the current dilemma I was in, and heard some crackling sound from the forest. I had a guess on what or more specifically who could be the originator of that sound. I walked in the direction of the origination of the crackling sound which increased the further I got close,

There I saw 10 Minato's sitting, each with a kunai on their hand. I saw a Minato which I guessed to be the real one as he had the three-bladed kunai I gave to him as a present, unlike the others who just had normal kunais on their hands. They were trying to coat their kunai with lightning chakra and trying to control the chakra from going out of their control. He's been trying to achieve Nature Transformation on his lightning.

I heard one can achieve nature transformation on lightning by controlling its flow, power and having some degree of control over natural lightning. I watched him, hiding behind a tree. All of them were trying and failing to control its flow. Even Minato, who Oba-san said was as skilled as second hokage in ninjutsu is struggling, but it is to be expected as lightning is the most unpredictable element of all the five basic elements and has the most versatile uses.

It could be used to attack, defend, or escape from genjutsu, speaking of genjutsu Minato modified his seal on our earring to make it release a small amount of charge every 10 minutes to be released from any genjutsu and the amount of current and the time interval could be modified by anyone with basic knowledge about seals, The previous method of disturbing the chakra flow every 30 seconds had more cons than pros, if the 30 second limit reached when you were performing a jutsu, the jutsu will be canceled due to the disturbance of chakra flow.

Thinking about the earring I couldn't help but blush as I touched the earring in my left ear while he wore it in his right ear. It was his first gift to me and it was certainly useful.

The clone threw the kunai towards a m wide boulder, it pierced through the boulder completely and the tree behind it. The clone dispelled itself thus giving the memory to other Minatos and they started practicing it to further increase their control.

I don't know how much time passed as The last clone dispelled itself and Minato packed his stuff inside his training bag while taking off his T-shirt and poured the water inside his bottle over his head. The sight of him without a shirt and wet hair made me suddenly feel hot and my face was fully flustered.

Subconsciously I took a step back and broke a twig which created a noise loud enough for Minato to notice me.

"What are you doing here Kushina?"

At that moment I had only one thought in my mind, 'Shit, I got caught Peeping'.
