[Kushina's POV]

I hid my face in Minato's shoulders, embarrassed at my actions a while ago. I can't believe I behaved like a child in front of him. I slowly looked at his face.

"How about a ride, Kushina"

He asked me, looking at my eyes with a gentle smile, Damn that smile for making my tummy feel funny. I

Was lost in my thoughts thinking about how he called me on my first name basis without any suffix.

"Hello, are you there"

He asked me while walking slowly, I came out of my thinking and started feeling embarrassed of my behaviour.

"What ride?"

He looked at me and started smiling mischievously

"Say, where's your house?"

"Why are you asking that?"

"Just answer"

"I'm currently living in the Senju quarters"

"Fortunitalley I know the direction"

[3rd Person's POV]

Minato took a running pose while still carrying Kushina in his arms. He started running at full speed from the forest towards the Senju compounds. Seeing him running, climbing trees and buildings and running over a river in the forest Kushina got scared and started shouting at him while tightly hugging him on his neck. Luckily he used chakra to reinforce his whole body otherwise he would have suffocated because of her grip.

The onlookers just looked at them and carried on with their work.

Unknown to them Kushina was always followed by an Anbu ninja, He had spiky, silver-coloured hair that reached into the middle of his back tied in a ponytail and bangs that hung over his forehead protector. He wore an Anbu mask and followed the duo silently while chuckling at the sight of the laugh of the blonde boy and the screams of the crimson-haired girl.

[Sakumo Hatake's POV]

I have been assigned the task of protecting Kushina Uzumaki, The next jinchuriki of the nine-tails by Hokage-sama. When I saw her running towards the forest after her fight with those kids, I swiftly followed her to avoid any dangers occurring to her. When I saw her sitting near the tree and crying her eyes out, I didn't know what to do. My heart said to go and console and cheer her up. But my duty said not to interact with the subject. While I was having an inner battle a bear neared her, and just as I was about to kill it the blonde boy she was talking to killed it I have to say, his throw was accurate and the bower behind was able to pierce the skin of the bear. He seems to be a skilled and strong boy.

Seeing their sweet interaction made my heart warm up. Next time if there is a fight between my heart and duty, I will definitely choose my heart. I won't let a situation like this happen again. I followed the boy as he took her to the Senju compound. I chuckled at their interaction. They stopped in front of the compound's gate and seeing the girl the guards let them in. I smiled and waited there as I was only allowed to protect her outside the compound and there was no need to when Mito-sama was protecting her. The boy seemed really talented. Maybe I should teach him in the future and inform Hokage about him if he already didn't know about him.

[Mito's Pov]

I sensed Kushina and another person entering the compound gates. They seemed to be really close to each other. They came near my house and knocked on the front door. I used a new technique I invented which helps someone to have the appearance they had in their youth. I opened the door to see Kushina being carried by a boy. She was pouting and playfully punching his chest while he was smiling. He had blonde hair and bright blue eyes, they were bright as the sky and his chakra was as bright as Hashirama's. It was my first time seeing someone's chakra as bright as Hashirama's.

"Drop me down now! Minato" Kushina seemed really embarrassed about the situation, I didn't think she would catch a guy on the first day of her school. Is Minato his first name or family name?

"Make me" Minato seemed to be playful and caring. Seems like Kushina fell down or something, Didn't she tell him that Uzumakis have a fast healing rate? Well a teasing material for me hehe.

"Hmm. Who's that Kushina?" I decided to interrupt them as they seemed to start to forget my existence.

"Hehe, Sorry about that. I'm Minato Namikaze and I'm Kushina's friend" So 'Minato' is his first name, and calling each other on a first name basis, Oh my children these days are fast. I invited them inside, seeing Kushina's reaction when I asked what happened. I didn't want to further ask them about it.

I left them alone for some time to bring some snacks and tea for them. They seemed really close to someone who I just met today. I asked them how the day was and Kushina started talking about their day from her introduction to her almost dying cause of a bear. She seemed really hesitant to say what happened next but seeing the blush on her face and the shy look on Minamoto-Kun's face it's not hard to guess what occurred back then.

"So, What's your dream Minato-Kun?" I asked to break the ice between us.

Almost instantly Minato replied with a gentle smile,

"I want to become the Hokage and change the people for the better"

His smile is very bright just like his chakra, almost as bright as the sun, hmmm good catch Kushina.

"Look at that Kushina you both have the same dream, your meeting must be fate"

Teasing Kushina is really fun, seeing her flustered face is very cute but I guess it's time to have a talk with Monkey and Sakumo about her protection. I looked at Kushina who seemed to have enough of Minatp's teaching and started chasing him to hit him, but it seemed he had really good chakra control as he ran and stood upside down in the ceiling laughing at Kushina's annoyed expression. I felt really sweet at the moment.

Kushina just walked out of the house leaving Minato literally and figuratively hanging.

"It seems she is really annoyed, Minamoto-Kun. You better follow her before she wanders somewhere else"

"Thank you for taking care of me Mito-sama"

"It's nothing Minato-Kun"

He seemed to be a really polite boy. Sigh, your dream is still not achieved Hashirama, Children like him are still suffering. Maybe I should adopt him but that's a thought for another day.

I went to the Hokage office to meet Monkey, I stood outside the room and cracked the sound-cancelling seal placed by yours truly.

'I SAID GET THE FUCK OUT DANZO!!!!'

'Do you think Konoha can win the war without me HIRUZEN!!"

'There wouldn't be a war if you stop this shit DANZO!!'

'You're delusional Hiruzen'

'I'M THE KAGE DANZO!!'

I felt a strong wave of chakra which was definitely Hiruzen's which was just slightly weaker than Tobirama's when he was at his prime. I hear someone falling to the ground and sensing that there were only two people in the room I am confident in assuming that Danzo fell.

'Hmph I'm leaving'.

I quickly hid my presence and stuck to the ceiling, seems like their fights are constantly increasing cause of Danzo's jealousy and Hiruzen's kindness conflicting with his judgement, You'd be disappointed Tobirama it would be better if you chose Kagami instead of Hiruzen at least Uchiha clan would have been united with the village.

I got down and knocked on the office doors,

"Come in, Mito-sama"

It seems his sensory skills are getting better, so I entered the room after opening the door. Monkey stood there with his back faced towards me and looked down at the village from the window while asking

"Are you disappointed in me?"

Hearing his question I remained silent, hearing my silence he sighed and turned to face me,

"Why did you come here, Mito-sama?"

"I wouldn't say I'm disappointed in you Monkey, It's just you are not fit for being the Hokage, that position not only requires strength but also wits and cunningness. You are the second-best teacher in the history of Konoha after Tobirama. The reason I came here is to discuss Kushina's future and a certain kid"

"You could have just said yes and it is the truth, of all the Hokages I am certainly the worst and the weakest, When Hashirama-sama and Tobirama-sensei decided something it would be the best for all of the village but in my reign Konoha became just like the fire capital, full of politics and betrayal every friend of mine except Torifu and Kagimi have become someone else and let's not even speak about Danzo's change.

I won't interfere with your decision regarding Kushina's future and if there is more than one ninja following her attack, the one who has any seal placed on them without holding back even if they didn't do anything.

And who's the kid"

"At least now you started acting like a Hokage and I didn't change my decision to make her my successor and the next jinchuriki of the nine tails. Even if I was a little scared and guilty of making him carry this fate now I am confident in my decision."

"Did anything special happen to her?"

"Love is a really special thing you know, You only get stronger when you love"

"Hoho, Is this related to the kid you mentioned?"

"Yeah his name's Minato Namikaze, an orphan who's 9 years old and is in the same class as Kushina. From his physique and chakra control he seemed to be a hard worker and a talented guy. He reminds me so much of Hashirama but he's a lot smarter but a little weaker than Hashirama at that age."

"If he's gotten your attention he must be really great maybe I should keep an eye on him"

"I plan to teach him about seals along with Kushina to make sure someone can control the fox after my death"

Hearing that Hiruzen's face turned sad for a moment before he sighed and asked

"How long do you think you can survive Mito-sama?"

Hearing the sadness in his tone and sensing the slight darkening in his chakra which is bright grey in colour she smiled and patted his shoulder

"If I really want to, I can push for another 50 years, Monkey, but I am tired of seeing all my family die and watching my granddaughter blame herself for my grandson's death. I am becoming numb. I think it is better to move on than live like this. Maybe one day you will understand this feeling"

Hiruzen just nodded and wiped away the single tear that dropped from her eye

"But I need you to promise me two things Hiruzen, will you do it"

Hiruzen just flared his chakra and said,

"I swear on my son Koji that I will complete your wish Mito-sama"

"No need to swear on your son Hiruzen, Biwako wouldn't be happy about it"

"Haha, she wouldn't if she knows it is you who I swear to, Hell she will appreciate it she just idolises you and Hashirama-sama that much"

I hummed and entered my sage mode to erect a barrier around the office to make sure no one heard us. Seeing me enter sage mode Hiruzen summoned his staff and took a battle stance and tried sensing any enemy's presence

"There is no danger Hiruzen It's just that I don't anyone or anything to hear our conversation"

Hiruzen unsummoned his staff and listened to me attentively

"You know that all the Senju clan members except Tsunade are dead right"

"I'm sorry for my Incomp-"

"It's not your fault Monkey, It started way before you became hokage. You remember Hashirama's and Madara's fight in THE END VALLEY right?"

"Yes"

"After Hashirama won he said that he sensed someone or more specifically something looking at him, he said that it didn't feel like human or any other living animal he felt. It had no traces of chakra and the only reason he sensed it was because of his sage mode. During Tobirama's funeral I felt the same presence while I was in sage mode while controlling the nine tails."

"Mito-sama, do you want me to investigate it?"

"No, not you Jiraya knows sage mode right tell him to protect Tsunade with it"

"Then what are the promises Mito-sama"

"Promise me that you will protect Tsunade, Kushina, and Minato. And that you will not let your personal feelings blind your judgment"

I released all my chakra while I was in my sage mode and looked at Monkey's eyes with killing intent.

Hiruze started sweating, suddenly he started remembering the final words of his teacher, The second Hokage.

'I leave the rest in your hands, Hiruzen'

'From Now you are the third Hokage of Konoha'

Not wanting to disappoint his sensei even further he stopped shaking and said in a resolute tone while releasing his own chakra.

"I Promise with my life on the line."
