Chapter 14

Stella:

On my final day at home with my mom she showed me her power and gosh that was intense. We had gone to the store and some guy tried to rob us and out of nowhere when he tried to shoot us it's like the gun fired the bullet and it killed him and not us! It still trips me up like how does that even happen, my mother is amazing, no she is my hero! I don't even know how to explain it, Mom was so calm almost as if she was happy, no more like smug. It was so intense I didn't see anything else happen at all...I only heard to click from trigger and then I heard a bang, I kept waiting and waiting for the pain to hit for me to feel cold as the blood trickled out of wherever he managed to shoot me, but nothing happened. When I finally looked up, he was no longer standing in front of me with the pistol pointed at me but instead laying on the ground in a pool of his own blood. Mom seemed pleased with herself although when I looked at her eyes, I could see that she felt sad for the loss of a life innocent or not.

Everything is all packed and I can't wait to see Scarlet and to tell her everything that has happened over the last few days. The best part about our relationship, we have no secrets from each other, and we never harshly judge each other either. She is supposed to be here in about 30 minutes, and I think it is time to start texting her to see if I can wake her up, 'I swear she can sleep like the dead.' I have a lot of stuff that has to go to our apartment so hopefully it won't take us too long to get everything loaded up and unloaded again at our apartment. I am beyond excited to see what Scarlet has done with our place so far, she has been over there overnight at least once already. My phone chimes,

Hey Ella, I'll be there in 5 minutes, and I will be bringing help. Oh...and we should probably talk when I get there.... Jace will be coming about 10minutes after I arrive. XOXO

'Holy shit she is already up? And she is bringing help? Wait we have to talk...I am slightly worried now.'

As if right on cue Scarlet comes around the corner on Beast and I can see that something huge has changed with her, something huge has happened. I brace myself for the worst. As she takes off her helmet, I can see from her face that whatever she has to tell me is huge but in a good way. I run up to her and give her a big bear hug, "I have missed you! What's going on you look sooo.... Happy?" She smiles shyly.

"Well...I'm not even sure how to say it.... I haven't even been able to even tell Cam...Jace and I....we are...together...like a couple!" She watches me while I process this new information that she has given me. 'This feels like de ja vu.... but how.... oh, my hell! My dream...it wasn't all beautiful and it didn't end well for Scarlet...' I hug Scarlet again partially in feat but also in excitement for her.... she deserves to be happy, and she has always had a thing for Jace. "I am so happy for you! That is so great! You guys are cute together."

Approximately 10 minutes later, just as Scarlet said, Jace pulls around the corner and parks in front of my house. He jumps out quickly and gives Scarlet the sweetest kiss that makes me feel like I am interrupting a private moment. 'My goodness they are adorable together! Seeing them together like this makes my heart melt.' Before I can say anything to tease Scarlet another guy steps out of Jace's truck, he looked like a swimsuit male model. I begin to feel something in the pit of my stomach, the only way that I can even think to describe the feeling is, infatuation. He is maybe 6 foot 2 inches, 'Oh my word he is tall enough that I can actually wear heels! Chill Stella you don't even know this guy's name! For all you know he could be a creeper.'

"This is my brother Jovanni and his friend James." Jace introduces them to us. "Jovanni, James, this is Stella and you have already met my girl, Angel. How are you doing Stella? Ready to get started?" He looks at me just briefly as he asks me a direct question, it seems as if it is impossible to focus his attention anywhere but on Scarlet. 'Oh my gosh! He called Scarlet Angel!!' *swoon* 'Focus Stella let's get to the apartment maybe I can manage to find me something like they have.

"Nice to meet you guys. I am good I am nervous and definitely ready to go." I show everyone to my room where I have all of my things packed. I take a moment to admire James closer; He has crystal clear blue eyes, a rounded strong jaw with a sharp nose. His 5 o'clock shadow makes me want to run my tongue over it. He has a gentle set to his light lips, desirable yet firm. 'Oh my gosh he is strong.' He lifts 2 of my boxes that I am pretty sure have books in it like nothing, carrying them with ease out to the truck.

"Well, well, well, does Stella have a crush? You are staring mighty hard girl." she pokes me in my ribs causing me to jump and giggle.

"Girl, have you noticed how good-looking James is? Like damn he is so muscular!" I knew that I was blushing because I can feel my cheeks heating up. I finally get the nerve to talk to him. 'Act cool Stella don't be your weird self. Don't wanna scare him away before you even get the chance to get to know him.'

"Hi James. I just wanted to thank you personally for coming out here to help me move my things. It really means a lot to me." He looks at me and smiles causing my knees to go weak.

"Not a problem Cutie. It's been...." He pauses to look me up and down..."...refreshing to help someone so attractive. Mmmm and you have legs for days. You know what?... Let me take you out and that will make us even." He gives me a cocky smile. 'Oh, so he has a playful side. Let's see what he thinks about this.'

"I mean I suppose that would be fair after all you devoted an entire day just to help me move, it really is the least that I could do in return." I wink at him seductively and quickly turn and walk away. 'My goodness he is perfect for me! He is witty, strong, and tall! Once again, my girl came through for me only, she doesn't know it yet.' I walk straight to Scarlet while the men finish loading the last of my things, "Girl, I love you! You are the best!" She looks at me confused and intrigued.

"Ummmm you're welcome? I think...and I love you too. But why am I the best? Imma need some explanation for that one." She chuckles and looks at me waiting for my reasons.

"Well, when you brought help, you also brought me the perfect man which I hope turns into love. AND he is tall, handsome, and he is strong. He is really the perfect one for me. Girl as if you didn't know that he is my type! Either way we are going to go on a date. I just don't know when yet." I smile proud of myself.

"No way! I actually am so happy that you like him! I honestly didn't look at him. My eyes are stuck on Jace." She looks at him with pure love. I swear if she was an emoji, she would be the one with the hearts for eyes, it is so cute it is almost gross.

"Alright lady's let's get going! Angel, are you taking your bike out there?" Jace has a deep look of concern on his face as he asks her this. He should already know that distance is nothing for Scarlet especially when she is on Beast she literally can ride for hours and not even need to stop to stretch.

"Yes, my love it will just be you and the boys in the truck. We will fallow you." She winks at him just before she pulls her helmet over her head.

"Ok Angel but with one condition, you ride behind me and in front of Stella so that we can protect you from other drivers." He looks at me this time to make sure that I agree to his terms and of course I do. I nod my head at him in agreement making sure that she knows that I fully agree that she should be between us on this trip. She nods in response to both of us and starts Beast with a rumbling roar that I can feel deep in my chest. I step into my car as Jace climbs into his truck and just like that we are all off to get to our apartment.
