The Art Show

I woke up with the banging sound on my bedroom door by my best friend Bella. " Elle if you do not wake up now we gonna be late for the show" Bell said. I rub my eyes, I unplug my phone from the charger and saw the time it was almost 8 30 am. I groan and get up from bed and headed to the bathroom. I brush my teeth and took a quick shower. Wrapping the towel in my body I went to my closet and took a black jeans, a white top, black jacket and vans shoes. After getting ready I comb my hair and put it in a pony tail, did some light make up and I was done.

I took my phone and headed to the kitchen and saw Bell making some eggs for us. " Why did I say yes to you for volunteering the art show and why it has to be on a Sunday ?" I ask Bell and sat down in the dining table. She smile and handed me a plate of eggs, beacon and bread with a glass of apple juice. " Because you love me and also we might meet some cute guys and it can change our lives" she said smiling and sat in front of me. " Yeah sure" I said with a smile. Bell always say cheesy lines like this to me. I laugh every time she tells me. I don't know from where she gets it.

But one thing I know for sure is that the art show is going to be so boring. A art show was organize in our college. A bunch of different colleges were selected to display there art in the show. Of course our college was also taking part. And Bell over here convince me to volunteer with her. I own my own apartment, Bell come to stay with me on weekends. She stays with her parents, while she was searching for a apartment to move out from her parents house, I ask her to move in with me as I have a extra room. She said yes and told me she will move in on march.

She was very excited and so was I. After we had our breakfast I put our plates in the basin. I ask Bell " Ready to go ?". " Yeah, I will go and start the car" she said and went out. I took my keys, lock the door and saw Bell waiting for me in the car. I get in and we headed towards our college.

It was a fifteen minutes drive to college from my house. We reach and Bell park the car. We got out and head inside. We took our volunteering id cards from the office room. " Well lets begin the boring day" I said to Bell and wore the id card. She smile and said " It might not be boring as you think Elle". " You mean standing, staring the paintings that I cannot understand and try to answer people about the painting that I don't know anything about it" I said to Bell.

" Don't worry we will get through it" she said. I smile at her and we went to the hall where the show will be held, everything was perfect and beautiful. The show started and people started to show up. The other college students where in the hall, seeing others paintings, answering to questions some people ask. So far it was good. Everything was going as planned. Bell was talking with Gary, one of the student from other college. I came out of the hall and headed towards the cafeteria to have a cup of coffee. I pull my phone out of my pocket to check if I got any messages.

Two messages from my mom and a new message was Bell saying Gary just ask her number. I was replying to her when I bump into someone. Thank god my phone did not fell from my hand. I look to the person that I bump into and started to apologize " Sorry". " Its alright. Can you tell me which way is the cafeteria?'' he ask me. " I am headed towards it. You can come with me" I said to him. We walked towards the cafeteria, " I am Adam" he said. " Elle. You here for the show? I ask him. He replied " Yeah. And you''.

" I am from this college and my best friend somehow convince me to volunteer with her" I said. He smiled at me and said " Not a fan of art I guess". We reach the cafeteria, he open the door for me I smile at him and said " Thank you and don't get me wrong I like art but its Sunday and I just wanted to wake up late and I don't know how to read paintings". He laugh at my respond. I ask him smiling " What ?". "Its just, you and I have something in common. I also like to wake up late on Sunday" he said looking at me. Both of us brought coffee and sat in one of the table.

He was telling me how his friend also drag him to the art show and that he cannot read paintings either. He is so handsome. His spiked short hair, his dark brown eyes, he is a little scruffy and that makes him more cute. He caught me staring and said with a smirk " You know its rude to stare". I smile awkwardly and said " Sorry its just---". " That I am handsome" he said smiling. " Yeah" I blush while saying him. We talked for a while and went back to the hall. After a few hours the show was over, I was looking for Adam but I did not saw him after we left the cafeteria.

Bell and I were about to head out. I was talking to Bell when someone called me, I turn around and saw Adam coming towards me. " I will be in the car" Bell said. " Hi" I said. " Hey I was wondering if you wanna go on a date with me?" he ask nervously. I smile at him and said " yeah sure". " Cool. How about tomorrow?" he ask smiling. " Sure okay" I said with a smile. We exchanged our numbers and I said bye to him and went to the car. As I close the door Bell ask me smiling " I want to know everything about him". I told her how I bump into him, went to the cafeteria and all.

Bell was happy for me, she also got a date with Gary too. I was also happy for her. She drop me infront of my apartment and went home. I went inside, freshen up, put on some music and lay on my bed. It was a long day but it was a good one. My phone chimed and I saw it was a message from Adam. It said " Have you reach home?'', I replied yes. He send me another message " Cant wait for our date" with two heart eye emoji. I smile reading it and replied " Me too" with a heart emoji. I plug my phone into the charger and fall asleep with a smile in my face.

NEXT MORNING

I woke up around 10 am. I unplug my phone from the charger and saw a message from Adam, " Good Morning, will pick you up around 6." I replied ok and send him my address. I put my hair in a messy bun, brush my teeth and went to the kitchen have some cereal. After I was done I put the plates, bowls in the dishwasher. I wash some of my clothes, took a bath, I ordered some thing for lunch because I didn't feel like cooking. After lunch I watched a movie.

When the movie was over I saw the time, it was 5 pm, I freshen up and went to the closet and took out my black ruched bodycon dress that goes a little below my knee, my demin jacket and my white adidas shoe. I straight my hair, did some make up. Once I was done I heard a knock on my front door. I took my purse, keys and headed out. I open the door and saw Adam with a bouquet of roses.

He was wearing white shirt, black jacket, blue jeans and vans shoes. I thank him for the roses and put them in a vase and went out. " You look gorgeous " he said looking at me. " Thanks. You are looking handsome too" I said smiling at him. He lead me to his car, we got in and he handed me a blindfold " Put it on" he said smiling. I look at him with confused eyes and said " Are you kidnapping me?". He laugh and told me " No, but I do not want to ruin the surprise for you".

I smile and put in on and he started driving. After 20 minutes he pull over, he got out of the car and help me come out. He took my hand and said " Follow me". We walk and after a few minutes he told me to remove the blindfold. I open my eyes and saw we were at the beach. A table was set in front of us, with food and wine. And an electric candle was place in the middle of the table and several others around the table. I smile at him and said " Its beautiful". He hold my hand and we walk towards the table. After we had our food, we just sat there and watch the sun set.

I notice Adam was staring at me. I smile and said " You know its rude to stare". I use the same line that he told me yesterday. " How can I not? You are so pretty" he said and lean towards me. Our faces were so close, I close the gap and my lips connected with his. They melted together perfectly. The kiss, beautiful sunset in the back ground. It was an amazing date. Everything was so perfect. Adam pulled away, I open my eyes and saw him looking at me. I gave him a smile.

Suddenly I heard something ringing, everything faded away and I open my eyes. I turn off the alarm in my phone and saw the time it was 8 30. Rays of sunshine were coming inside my room from the window. It was a sunny day but still it was a little cold. I get up and lean on the headboard, covered my legs with my blanket, I looked the other side of my bed it was empty and cold. I looked outside and thought it was just a dream but a beautiful one. But I don't know why I feel so sad. Like I wished it was true. The thought that it was all just a dream crush my heart.

I had a strange feeling in my heart and I don't know what it is. After a few moments I heard my door open and saw Adam came in with two plates of breakfast for both of us. He was wearing a grey sweatpants with no shirt. When I saw him all my weird feeling went away. " Good morning princess" he said smiling, handed me a plate kissed my forehead and sit infront of me. " Morning babe" I said to him with a smile. " How did you sleep?" he ask eating his omelet. " Good. I saw a nice dream" I said to him and started eating my bread.

" Yeah. About what?" he ask. " The first time we meet. Our first date" I said with a smile. " Aw babe" he said and kissed me. After finishing our breakfast, we started to get ready for the day. When I was done Adam was sitting in the bed wearing his shoe. I was happy that it was just a dream and Adam was actually here with me. I wore my jacket and was brushing my hair, " Why you are so quite this morning babe?" Adam ask still sitting on the bed. " No its nothing" I said. He motioned me to sit near him, I sat near him keeping my head down fiddling with my fingers.

He put a finger on my chin and make me look at him. He said " Babe what's bothering you?". I smiled at him, he knows me well. I put some stray hair behind my ear and started to say " The dream I saw about our first date it was nice but when I woke up it was just a dream, you were not here with me. Like it was all gone. Like it never happen" I said with teary eyes. " Even thinking about it scares me. We are not promised tomorrow. Anything can happen" I told him. He cup my face and said " Princess" I smile at the nickname. " I am here and I am not going anywhere.

You mean so much to me. You are the best thing that ever happen to me. And I hope someday I will make you my queen. And after that we can have lots of more dates. Elle I am so in love with you" He said with seriousness in his voice. "I love you Elle" He said tears forming in his eyes. Its the first time he said that to me. I am also so in love with him. And I am so thankful that I meet him. " I love you too Adam" I said tears rolling from my eyes and we kissed. I still get fireworks, butterflies flying in my stomach when I kiss him. Our lips fit perfectly with each other.

Like a missing piece of puzzle finally meet its other half. He still have the same effect on me like the first time we meet. My hands found its way back to his neck and play with his hair. His one hand was on my face and the other one slip to my waist. The kiss was so passionate and filled with love. We pulled away, he gave me a eskimo kiss and hugged me tight. He pulled me as close as he can. I can feel the warm from his body. The thought of him and me, us , made me smile.

I feel like my heart is glowing with happiness. " I am glad that I went to that art show" he whispered to me. " Me too" I said smiling. I am really lucky to have him in my life. Bell was right, The Art Show really changed my life.
