"Reincarnation?" the girl asked, looking surprised. "Why are you interested in that?"

"It's a long story," Jack said, hesitating. He wasn't sure how much he wanted to reveal to a stranger, especially one who seemed to be hiding something. He had always been a skeptical person, but the memories of his past lives felt too real to be dismissed as mere hallucinations.
