Chapter 41: Veera's Ambition

RAW WAS SCARED OF THE TORTURE LOOP OF VEERA.

He was so scared that for the next few iterations of the time loop, he didn't even struggle. He cooperated with them, hoping they would be finished hitting him.

God knows how many iterations were over, but soon, he became numb to the beatings.

No matter what they did, he didn't care. He didn't care the trauma that's making it's way inch by inch into his head because of this endless Torture Loop.

He didn't care the creepy smile that Veera gave him before the Torture Loop began.

He didn't care numerous wounds appearing as the loop progressed and disappeared at the start of the loop.

Soon, he grew tired.

Tired from all the beatings. Tired from being numb. Tired from being scared.

It became so much so that, he started to feel angry.

Angry at himself for being scared. Angry at himself for taking their beatings. Angry at himself for not fighting back.

If this continued, he would die. He did not wanted to die. He wanted a girlfriend whom he would marry and spend the rest of his life in the future.

It didn't matter if she was not Sandhya.

It didn't matter whether if anyone approve him to marry the woman he loved.

He would still marry her. Have a family with her. Grow old with her. If possible, die with her.

He. Didn't. Want. To. Die.

He can't take this anymore.

Just as the guard was about to deliver him a blow that would render him unconscious, he waded it off and they were back at the start where the guard was about to push him.

Ram was not able to evade this push, but when the guards tried to hit him, Ram tried to hit them back.

And failed.

He was once again their punching bag.

But just before they could deliver the blow that would render him unconscious, Ram punched the guard in the nose. Even though he got hit in the process, the guard also collapsed in the process.

Back to when he was about to be pushed by the guards.

He observed how the guard pushed him and where he had been at that moment.

He observed every movement that the guards made while hitting him.

He observed till the guard was about to raise his hand to deliver a blow to him, he punched him the nose. The guard fell down, but Ram was still standing.

They were back to time when they were about to push him inside.

Ram stepped just a little to the side and the guard fell forward on his face.

The second one laughed at the guard who fell down, but the third guard was glaring at them and came towards Ram.

Ram glared at the guard and when the guard was about to hit him, the Flow of Time froze for everyone around them.

"It's good that you were able to come out of the loop. But so what? I am more powerful than you. I am more experienced than you. I can predict what your actions might be and prepare in advance on how to counter them. It would be a hopeless battle," Veera said.

Ram glared at him. "It didn't matter. Just because you have power, you think you could do anything you wanted?" he asked.

Veera grinned at him. "Of course, I could do anything I wanted. I am practically an immortal," he said.

Ram shook his head. "I don't think so. If you get hit by a bullet, it could kill you," he said.

"I could reverse time so that just as they are about to hit me, I could evade that position."

"What happens if you were surrounded on all sides and everyone were firing at the same time?"

"I will freeze the flow of time."

"What happens when you were in the middle of using other powers? Do you think you can use two powers of time at the same time?"

Veera frowned. "I … I can't use it. But it doesn't matter. As I have already said, I have the mastered the Power of Time. I can predict your actions using the many variations of Time Loop. I just have to Reverse The Flow of Time to certain point. I can find faults in my enemies plans using—"

Ram started to laugh. Veera gave him a bewildered gaze and Ram laughed harder.

"What?" Vera asked.

Ram was still busy laughing.

Veera glared at him, grabbed Ram by his collar and shook him.

"Why are you laughing?" he asked.

Ram composed him for a moment. "Your powers aren't similar to mine. Even though you had time to master them, you were still not able to discover all of them," he said.

"What do you mean?" Veera asked at the top of his lungs.

Ram grinned at him. "I was able to use Looping of Time with other powers, like Freezing the Flow of Time. But you are not. That's why you wanted me alive. Otherwise, you would've killed me. Isn't it?" he said.

Veera gasped. "How did you know?" he asked.

"Simple, your endless display of powers proved to me the same," Ram said.

Veera stared at Ram for few more moments before chuckling and pushed him away.

It was Ram's turn to be bewildered.

"What? Did you think that just because I couldn't use two powers of time at the same time while you could, I am doing all this to learn it from you?" Veera asked.

Ram didn't think it were the case. He thought that the reason Veera was keeping him alive was because he was able to use more than one power of time but he was not. There seemed to be something more.

Veera frowned. "Don't tell me you are thinking I want to get from you how you are able to use other powers as well, like Power of Water and Power of Light?

"No. I don't want them. I am very satisfied with my current powers of time. I can use them as and when I wanted. I even came out of many dangerous situations alive because of this. I am using you to create more chaos, destroy The Institute before moving on to the next one," he said.

Ram stared at Veera in horror. Destroy The Institute? Move on to next one? "What do you mean?" Ram asked.

Veera chuckled. "Did you really think Institute was the only one that existed to go against The Forces of Darkness and the powers that you were using now were the only ones that really existed in our world?" he asked.

Ram just stared at him.

Veera frowned, but continued. "You see, The Institute as they keep on calling themselves, was basically a very small organizations that existed in this world. All these organizations were hypocritical, limiting and destroying us who tried to use the Powers of the Darkness, by branding it as evil.

"There is no good and bad. Just how you perceive it and how convenient it is for your plans. I had already destroyed so many small ones. By destroying 'The Institute', I would be ready to advance and set out to destroy more powerful ones. You are just a tool that I can use to achieve that. Though, you are a very unique tool that can use and combine powers. But it doesn't matter. I have already destroyed all the reactors that gives you the powers. You are useless. Well, except for your hypnosis. But everyone wouldn't know about that. They will think of you as a monster. They will not rest until you are destroyed, there by destroying themselves in the process," he said.

Ram was scared. His reactors were destroyed? He turned to look inward towards the reactors and he didn't find anything.

Is that why he was unable to use his powers earlier, when he tried to fed it the power to them? But at that time he was able to feel the reactor.

When had he destroyed it?

"When?" he asked shakily.

"Just as they were about to take you out of the Elder of Air's quarters. When you were facing those crazy illusions. I was busy destroying all the reactors that were present inside your body. Totally, the three of them, even including the reactor for Power of Water that the Elder of Water had transferred to you. I would've like to chat with you for much longer. But I don't have much time. I have to prepare myself for conquering the next bigger organization. Good luck to your future, or rather, your doom," Veera said.

Ram was so angry at him that he forgot about Veera's powers and craziness and pounced on him.

He forgot about everything else that was happening all around him and punched his face.

Again.

And again.

So much so that Veera's face was a bloody mess.

Amidst all the beating, Veera was still grinning at him. That made Ram angrier and punch him even more.

Ram didn't know what happened, but he was suddenly lifted off from Veera.

He was still punching in the air when he heard a powerful voice said, "STOP."

Ram turned to see who the new person was. But he as able to see only the person's hands that came out of a circle that was glowing at the edges but completely dark inside the circle except for his hands.

It felt like the person had opened up a dimension or space or portal like he had seen in Doctor Strange movie.

He must be the Elder of Space. He glared at Ram and said, "Apprehend Ram immediately. He had gone crazy. Even when he knew that Veera was under my protection, he was not able to control his urges and beaten Veera to a pulp. I order everyone present here to mark Ram as the most dangerous criminal and urge the all the elders present to conduct the trial earlier."
