Chapter 31: Who are monitoring him or hypnotize him?

RAM WAS HORRIFIED.

There was a chance that enemies might be monitoring him and also that they might have hypnotized him to trust them, or even make him do the things that they wanted.

Elder of Water was lazy. So he didn't do anything other than asking him about his favorite books. He even mentioned an amazing app, Webnovel, that sounded way too cool and he wanted to try it.

But what about others who could hypnotize him?

He realized that the chances of him hypnotized were high.

What were their purpose though? To evoke a war between the Faction of Hope and Faction of Realists?

Or were they meant to plant him as s spy for The Institute?

Ram didn't know.

He also didn't know if he were paranoid or someone were really monitoring him all this time, using the barrier that could prevent sound as well as obscure them.

It's better to analyze everyone around him and their motives as well as any change in their behaviors.

He thought about Elders. They wanted to monitor him to see if he was as dangerous as Aunt El claimed him to be when they were deciding what to do with him at the Justice Hall. But it had been a tactic used by Aunt El to delay his judgment by the Elders of Faction of Hope.

Elder of Air was at first scared of him, of his powers to Reverse The Flow of Time. When she saw him kissing her daughter, she was angry at him. When she learned that Ram was the foster child of her younger rebellious sister, she hated him. She could be monitoring him to see if he tried to get closer to Sandhya. But she had other matters that demanded her attention and she had the perfect eyes to watch him. Chandra.

Moreover, if she could hypnotize, she would have done that to make sure Ram stayed away from her daughter. But all she had done was by setting up his training session with Sandhya through virtual class, that too for 30 minutes only.

He could rule her out.

He then turned to Proxy Elder of Light and Aunt El. There was no need for him to worry about them. After all, in a way they were his family when he considered The Institute as the World.

He could rule both of them out.

He turned to Sandhya. Even though she was mischievous and playful at first when they met him, she had been emotional even then. She formed close friendship with Em, just like he had been. And after he kissed her when he accidentally discovered he could Freeze The Flow of Time, she broke down. Her being angry at him and why her attitude changed towards him after that incident was natural.

He could even rule her out.

Ram paid his attention next at Chandra. The most stable person and most perfect person Ram had ever seen, just like Elder of Air said.

Even though Aunt El was suspicious of Chandra, the more time Ram spend with him, the more he realized that Chandra was all big muscles and scary looking, but a big softie inside. And also, he was loyal to the fault.

He ruled him out.

That left Ram with the twins and Elder of Water.

Elder of Water was careless about him and most importantly he was lazy to his bones. He knew about hypnotism and even hypnotized him in the broad day light. But he didn't know much about him.

He turned to Sandhya and Chandra. Who had been stayed long in the Institute than him.

"Do you know think Elder of Water might be the one who could possibly hypnotize me with some ulterior motive?" he asked.

They didn't reply to him at first, as they still had worried look on their face.

Finally, it was Chandra who answered him. "I don't think so. He was the most lazy person I have ever known, he was also known to be kind. Just like he did with you at Justice Hall, he wanted to punish you in a light manner, just so to teach you a lesson. And the severity of punishment might be something the lines of you doing errands for him. If he were to hypnotize you, it would also to reduce him doing the actual work he was supposed to do. I heard he was evenly matched with Elder of Time, but he was just too lazy," he said.

Chandra frowned. But as he thought about it, he realized that Elder of Water was indeed lazy.

He had preferred James Patterson books than Rick Riordan books.

He was scared of Brandon Sanderson books. After all, the novellas of Brandon Sanderson were equivalent to most of the novels of others.

Though Ram had to see what Webnovel was before he could judge it.

But come on, even though Rick Riordan has more mythology put into it, they were funny as hell. You could breeze through them.

As for James Patterson books, even though they are shorter with short chapters, one would easily get fatigued after reading them for long time.

Not that he had anything against James Patterson or his books, they were best for beginners.

Ram decided that Elder of Water was too lazy even to talk with him. Forget about hypnotizing him or monitoring him.

That left him with the twins Nano and Rita.

He didn't know anything about them or the device that they had implanted inside of him.

But it didn't seemed like they hypnotized him. They kept their meeting with him intact. The only fault of theirs was to implant an unknown device.

Could they be monitoring him?

He glanced all around him. But didn't find the readies of sparks of anyone using the barrier.

Ram shook his head.

He didn't know who the culprit might be.

Finally, the elders stopped their discussion and Elder of Air and others appeared in front of them again.

Elder of Air was the one who spoke to him first.

She looked grave.

"Elder of Water was better at hypnosis and know more about it than anyone else. Even though I have to beg him to do it, along with agreeing to do the things he was supposed to do, he promised us that he would teach you about hypnotism. Though not about how to use it. But how to detect whether you are under hypnotism, or if someone were attempting to hypnotize you? How to come out of it if you were being hypnotized? And how to defend yourself against it. But he promised me that he wouldn't teach you how to do it. Because, we were afraid you are going to use it to manipulate us," she said. "And your first session would be with Elder of Water. Not Chandra. So prepare yourself to be hypnotized."
