Chapter 26: Em's Crazy Plan

RAM YELLED AT THE TOP OF HIS LUNGS.

"Em, come on. Don't do this to me. I am in so much danger that you couldn't even imagine," he said.

Em still didn't appear.

Ram realized he couldn't make her appear if he go on like this. There was only one way that she could ever listen to him and he hated it.

"Em, I was so miserable out there just now that if you were present, you would've enjoyed it so much. I believe that it was even more fun than you watching my face when you portrayed horrible version of Emily Roxane," Ram said, hoping she would appear.

And sure enough, she appeared ant him, looking at him with glowing eyes. "What happened?" she asked.

Ram proceeded to tell what had happened.

After Em listened to it, she whistled. "I missed so much fun?" she asked.

Ram nodded. "What should I do now?" he asked.

"Damn! You should have screamed for me, yelled at the top of your lungs just a few moments before. How could you not let me know that such a huge thing was happening. Though I am scared about you almost disintegrating, but Aunt El was the younger sister of Elder of Air. She raised you just like Elder of Air raised her, but with more freedom. Moreover, you might have a chance to win Sandhya's love. Boy, what a great family drama it was. I really did miss on such a fun. Aunt El and Elder of Air were sisters and that old man had kept this from me?" Em said in a sad voice that was so fake that Ram wished he hadn't heard her voice just now.

Em even ignored his thoughts and continued to stare at him with an evil glint in her eyes, scheming god knows what. He had to stop her before she could scheme something that would bring doom to him.

"Em, have you forgot about the fact that Elder of Air threatened to send me to a lab to perform a bunch of experiments on me if I ever go to Sandhya or do funny things to her like stalking or staring or hugging or kissing or holding hands or…" Ram trailed off as she gave him a pointed stare. "Alright. I will control myself for now. But can't you see, I am in trouble now and no way to meet with Sandhya with her mother monitoring me?"

Em shook her head. "Dummy, you have to train your powers of time with Sandhya. Your aunt doesn't trust Chandra, so you would either train with Sandhya alone or with both of them present. You have more chances of spending time with her," she said with a very excited tone, rubbing her hands together. "I will help you make plans in such a way that Sandhya will fall naturally for you, at the same time you will not be blamed for that. Not only will you be able to learn your powers, you will also get the girl of your dream, your real dreams and not the fake one created by your aunt to protect you. Boy, can you even realize how lucky you are?" she asked.

Ram sighed. She was eerily optimistic about his future. Ram knew that would not be the case and that she was cheering him up for all that had happened him, just like Ram did to her moments earlier. "Thanks for giving me much needed positive pep-talk. Why don't we really discuss what we should do now?" he asked.

Em shook her head. "You should cultivate positive thinking," she said.

"More like wishful thinking."

"No. Let me put it this way. You need to learn to be more optimistic. You have a wonderful aunt by your side, who was a bad-ass Elder of Light, as well as lesbian, defying all the conventions and elders and more importantly Elder of Air. To think that Elder of Air was crazy enough to make her father listen to her regarding Aunt El and not reveal a thing about her to Sandhya. A true inspiration. She is my role model from now onwards."

"Please, did you forgot it made my aunt's elder sister — from whom she had been yearning for her acceptance — not even mention her existence to Sandhya? And I heard that the Old Man was rarely present for her. All she had was me. God known how hard she must've struggled. I wished she would find her love sooner and all the things go well for her," Ram said.

"Are you suggesting your Aunt settle with a guy that her sister wants her to?"

"No. I hoped that Elder of Air accept Aunt El fully, including her sexual preference as well as all of her strengths and faults. Wait! If I somehow keep my promise and show that Aunt had raised me well by acting like a perfect gentlemen, Elder of Air might forgive my aunt. Who knows, she might even accept her being a lesbian?" Ram said.

Em shook her head. "Now that was a wishful thinking. Are you forgetting the fact that ever since you had your Aunt's wish for pursuing Sandhya, your jealousy out of control. Now that you learned Chandra might be acting and not really in love with Sandhya, I can only imagine how you are going to control yourself during your training sessions with her," she said.

"That's that problem. What should I do?" he asked.

Em thought for a moment. "It's simple. Let's train with Chandra alone for the time being. Once you get used to his presence, you will then train with both Chandra and Sandhya. Soon, you will only be training with Sandhya. Not only would you be breaking the walls that Sandhya built around her heart like this gradually, but you will also not look suspicious. Elder of Air loves Sandhya. She only chose Chandra because he looked perfect. But if you show them that you are even more perfect and better than her, during your training as well as outside of it, she will also like you. And to top it off, you acting like a perfect gentlemen might soften Elder of Air's opinions of your aunt. We will then make a plan to make her accept your Aunt's sexuality. What do you think?" she said.

Ram was so moved by the plan that he instantly agreed to Em's crazy plan.
