Jack's Arrest

"Dad ain't you ready yet, what's taking you so long to get dressed" Mia called out to her father who overslept, she watched as he hurriedly ran down the stairs,

"I'm sorry dear, I overslept and Livy wasn't around to wake me up" Tom said grinning and itching his head,

"(shakes her head) you act like a five year old, let's go already we need to beat the traffic" Mia said walking out the building with her father trailing behind her, they both got into the vehicle and drove off,

"so why'd you decide to drop me off today"

"no reason I just felt like dropping you off myself today" Tom replied,

"okay then" Mia replied looking out the window,

"dad?"

"yeah?"

"do you ever miss mom" Mia asked with tears streaming down her cheeks,

"of course I do why would you even ask that" Tom replied,

"why did you get married to Livy", Mia said still looking away from her father, Tom was quiet for some moment then he spoke up,

"because your mom wanted me to get married again and that for your sake, she said she didn't want you to grow up without a mother's care like she did so.... that's why I got married again" the car silent again, Mia began to cry, Tom noticed this and decided to pull over, he unbuckled his seat belt and turned towards Mia,

"hey, look at me" Tom said holding Mia's chin to face him,

"it's okay, come here" Tom said pulling Mia into a hug and they both stayed there for about five minutes. Mia had to let go or else she would get to school late, Tom continued driving and there was an awkward silence in car till Mia arrived at school,

"thanks dad"

"you're welcome though I don't know why you thanked me" Tom replied smiling, Mia chuckled and went into the school compound. Tom watched his daughter walk into the compound before he drove off.

Mia's P.O.V

As I walked into the school compound eyes were all on me but not for too long though, it seems like a new story had taking over the school and I became curious, i got to my class and found Shawn on his seat with his headphone on and his attention focused on the book he was reading,

"hey Mia" I heard Hazel call out,

"oh hey" I responded,

"have you spoken with Shawn yet?",

"he won't listen to me no matter how hard I try and I've given up trying anyways" I replied,

"that aside, what's going on, everyone seems to be talking about Jack and Kenzie"

"yh, I'm not sure for certain but I heard Jack impregnated Kenzie, well according to Kenzie, Jack raped her and now he doesn't want to accept the child she now carries" Hazel said leaving me in shock,

"but they're dating so why would he rape her" I asked a little pissed,

"how would I know, like I said, it's a rumor, I don't know if it's true or not" Hazel said as we both went to my seat beside Shawn but he didn't notice me and I was glad, I had a little chit chat with Hazel and then she did something crazy.

Shawn's P.O.V

Her alluring scent was messing with my senses, I tried my possible best to ignore her but I couldn't ignore the water bottle that landed on the book I was reading, it was Mia's but she wasn't the one that threw it. To be honest, I actually do like her a lot but my ego just won't let me speak with her especially after what I said to her, I actually feel ashamed and disappointed at myself. I picked up the bottle in front of me looked at Mia, she couldn't look me in the eye at that stung my heart, "here" I said giving her the bottle, she collected it from me and walked out of the class just in time for assembly, like she knew the bell would ring at that particular moment. I got up and left for assembly and decided I would talk to Jaden about my feelings later. Todays assembly was different because all we spoke about was Jack.

"good morning student's, welcome to another school day, as some of you already know Jack Leo committed a crime he's going to be punished for so I invited officer Steve to join us here today" Mrs Penny said as offer Steve joined her,

"good morning students, I'm officer Steve, can Jack please join us up here" I saw Jack walk up to the stage with a calm look on his face, he didn't look worried at all and I personally felt something was off, and I'm certain I'm not the only one who felt that way, immediate Jack got to the stage, Steve cuffed him,

"you're under arrest Mr Jack for raping Miss Kenzie and refusing to take custody of her unborn child, you have the right to remain quiet, anything you say or do will be used against you in the court of law", while saying this, Kenzie appeared on stage and began to cry, like she was waiting for Steve to say those words, Steve walked out of the assembly hall with Jack, then the whole assembly began to mutter,

"this is stupid" I heard Mia say before she walked out of assembly with Hazel.

"Jack claims to be innocent which is definitely not true but that'll be settled at the law court this Friday" Mrs Penny said,

"excuse me Mrs Penny but Jack will be realeased anyways because you don't have evidence of him raping Kenzie nor do you have evidence of him being the father of her child" Sasha, a tenth grader spoke up,

He's not leaving that cell anytime soon, I have solid evidence which I provided to the police so don't worry about him getting out cuss he won't, no more questions, if you're interested in coming for the hearing then you're free to, assembly dismissed"

Mrs Penny left the assembly hall while the whole school began to mutter, "I'm so disappointed in Jack" some said, "something's definitely off" others said, the whole school was talking about the case but majority knew Jack was innocent and for some reason my mind went to Mia, she might be as innocent as Jack is but still, something didn't let me go to her so I decided that if Jack wins the case, I'll talk to Mia and apologize for my behavior.
