Chapter-5 Mafia Boss

KAITLYN'S POV

It's been one day. I haven't seen him. I mean, after that incident he left the room and didn't come back.

I am just locked in the room. I don't even go downstairs.

I am starving. I haven't eaten anything properly for two, three days. I am having nightmares. I wasn't able to sleep either.

Suddenly, someone knocks on the door. It opened and it's Aunt. Kelly! I called her aunt because she told me that Robert also calls her aunt.

Shocked, right? A stone-hearted person like him, has emotions also to call someone so pure.

I was thinking about how people around handle him.

"Kaitlyn, it's enough. I am noticing that you are not eating anything. See, I brought dinner for you." She said

She put the tray of dinner on the table.

"Aunt, did Robert come?" I asked her.

"You will get to know when he comes."

I nodded and started to eat. She supervises me, as I don't eat properly. I was done with dinner. And my aunt left the room.

I closed my eyes lying on the bed.

When I heard the door opening. I opened my eyes and saw Robert. I stayed there like a statue.

He came inside and instantly removed his black coat. He kept his wristwatch on the table and rested his palms on the table, stood there leaning towards the table, making his back facing me.

He is stressed, isn't he?

Maybe, I am overthinking but it seems like he is tired.

I was going to start a conversation but before I could say something. He entered the bathroom.

After a while, he came back. He came out with his wet hair. He was rolling his fingers in his hair. His wet hair dripped from the water drop. He was shirtless, just wearing black pants.

There was a skull stabbed knife tattoo on his neck, below his ear. His wrist also has a tattoo of a king crown written with 'R.'

My mouth slightly opened, looking at him. Suddenly, I heard someone clearing his throat. I got my senses back and looked away, closing my eyes and took a deep breath.

"Done staring?" He smirked.

He came to me and sat beside me on the bed.

"H-hmm? Huh? N-no!" I stuttered.

What? I was gawking at him. Damn it, Kaitlyn! This was left for you.

He looked at my wrist, which was still bandaged. He closed his eyes before opening them, in disappointment at his deed. I could sense that. Yes, it was his fault.

Suddenly, a knock comes on the door.

"Come in" His voice was hoarse.

The door opened, revealing Lucas.

"It's important," He said, entering the room and looking at me.

Robert caught him, looking at me. He stared at Lucas. They shared some expressions which I don't know what they meant by that.

"Speak," Robert said, wearing his shirt.

"Xavier is back to work and of course, his eyes are on us. And Alison signed the last contract of his Mafia business."

Every word surprised me. But that 'Mafia' word grabbed my whole attention.

I got up from the bed.

"Wh...what? M-mafia? R-Robert? --"

I stammered badly.

Robert looked at me with his sharp gaze and again turned to Lucas. He signaled Lucas to leave the place.

He closed the door and walked to me. Shit! I wouldn't ask him if I knew that he would be furious.

I took my steps back. He again stepped towards me. I took aback and HELL! This wall!

When did this wall come here?

"It was only there," He replied.

What? He...he...can read me?

"Yes, I can," He said.

Am I thinking so loud?

"You are," He replied again.

Is he so smart or am I so stupid?

"You are stupid." He replied with a smirk.

Now, enough! Don't think, don't think anything, Kaitlyn. I didn't know I am so easy to read.

"Trying not to think anymore?" He said.

He stood in front of me but still, we had distance between us.

"Kaitlyn, you have problems with this mafia business?" He said with an unusual tone.

I was still in my position. I didn't even move an inch.

"I am asking something. And I don't like to repeat my words." His voice was stern.

I blinked my eyes, still my gaze fixed on the floor.

"I want the answer" He instantly yelled and took a step towards me.

"No! No! I-I don't have...any problem." I stuttered.

"Don't dare to stutter"

I nodded.

"You have a tongue, Kaitlyn. Speak!" He shouted.

Oh, God! He has a problem. A serious problem.

"I wouldn't stutter," I immediately said.

"And look at me when I am talking to you."

"O-okay"

"I said, look at me"

I didn't move. I crumbled as I felt his hand behind my neck. He pulled me closer, causing me to look at him, into his eyes.

His eyes! His eyes were dark black. So beautiful but they were! They seemed to be in...in...pain. No! No! They seemed like he was tired. What? That's not true! How can he be in pain?

Suddenly, his eyes' color changed into dark brown and they were dangerous. They were hard.

"Follow my words when I am being nice." I heard his voice.

I nodded.

"You have a tongue, Kaitlyn. Speak!"

My mind reminded me of his words.

"Okay" I corrected myself.

"Let's show you something."

He held my wrist and dragged me out of the room. We stopped at the backyard of the house.

I was barely able to stand properly. My heart started to beat faster. Why? What the hell am I seeing this?

There was a man full of blood all over his body. His hands were stuck on the car's bonnet with needles stabbed on it.

The person sitting in the driver's seat started the car.

That man shouted in pain. God, it must be painting so much.

I shivered. Tears formed in my eyes.

"Robert, stop. Please, he...he...will die."

"Aren't you enjoying his screams?" He smirked.

"Are you crazy? Stop it!"

"He deserves this."

"Please, please. Let me die. Robert, please kill me. Kill me!" That man shouted in pain.

"Of course, but that's my decision when I want you to die. You should know who's the BOSS here." Robert said and turned to me. "Kaitlyn, he wants to die." He said.

He took a pistol from his waistband and headed it towards me.

"Shot him!" He said.

My eyes widened as I heard those words. No! No! No! Please, why with me?

I took my steps back. I was going to run when I felt his hand tugged on my arm. Why?

"Who told you to leave?" He said.

"Speak," He said.

I slowly turned to him. He pulled me closer as with the sudden pull. I landed on his chest. It was so close. So damn, close.

"Why are you trembling? Are you scared?"

I wanted to cry but no! I can't! I just can't!

"Leave it!" Robert said and turned to the other side, not losing his grip on my waist. "Lucas handled the situation. I will be back."

He again dragged me to the room.
