The Awakening

" Sam I dont understand why I have to go."

Sitting on his desk waiting for a response i play with his name plate.

Sam sighs " we have been over this Midnight. We have to keep peace with the other pack. Mom and dad have already arranged this marriage."

I roll my eyes. Its been two weeks since my nineteenth birthday and ever since then all my family has been telling me is that its time i got married. I havent even had my first change yet and that has my mother worried. Im a late bloomer or so she says. I on the other hand think its never going to happen so why get married?

Walking down the narrow path in the forest i enjoy the sounds of the birds and crickets. The smell of damp leaves and rain is heavy in the air as the sky darkens above me.
