Dragon 01

A dragon girl was laughing as she made her way through a newly discovered cave that was said to house something pretty rare at the center. Her party was mostly made of dragons who all played their roles overall. Sure Dragons were those that specialized in defense but they had enough variety between them to overcome that.

Dragons were not as bad at magic(which Beast was) nor physical attacks(which Demons were) after all. Thus parties of just dragons were easier to pull off them ones made of just beasts and/or demons. This did not make Dragons all rounders that were jacks of all trades like humans were, however. The thing dragons were hyper specialized in was defense. It did not matter what kind be it the body or the mind, the dragons had the highest physical defense. This is what allowed them to tank any melee and/or weapon attack made on them by anything or anyone of the four major races. In addition to that, they also had the highest magical defense allowing them to tank magic and mental attacks (which were mostly magical) the same way.

Their defense again was the reason that dragons were able to be all rounders and take on the role of any party member. Having less attack power than a beast does not matter most times if they can tank blows. Blows that beast can only dream of doing so unless they want to have themselves thrown out the gene pool. Point blank dragon breath with magic can make up for just not the raw magical power of a demon. While humans normally stand a chance at least skill wise against demons or beasts in the areas they are poor at. The same can not be said of Dragons which always beat them regardless.

Thus when the the discussion to form the Rotune group, the ones calling the shots to set up the meeting were the dragons after all. Also unlike the beast they were not trying to keep their best fighters away from this venture though this is where Sala the dragon girl going through this new cave came in. She entered the contest on her own and worked her way through the competition with hardly a little effort once it came to combat. The only area where she seemed to struggle the most was ironically where she should have excessed. 

That being defense

She was trying out for the tank role but she improved with each round taking the armor of the defeated and adding to her own. As Dragons had the ability to merge armor they wore it on their scale making them stronger and studier over time. The contest she fought was all so sure of themselves as they bought the best armor that money could buy ahead of time. Thinking that they did not have time to allow it to fully merge into their scales ahead of time. That could happen once they were already a part of Rotune.

This was one error of judgment as they were all counting their chickens before they had hatched. This led them all to lose their armor one by one to a dark horse that they did not even know was entering in the first place. She streamed roller over all of them after struggling only slightly when it came to tanking a blow without defending herself.

Sala after winning her spot on Rotune was the leader of the group in reality though she allowed the human that was chosen to lead them into thinking they were the ones calling the shots. They to some degree until they finished the true mission everyone but the human was in on leaving them there alone to rot after their betrayal. Sala returned a hero of her people as she then kept all the armor she managed to find to herself. Only allowing herself to be the one dragon in the world that has added such rare material to strengthen her scale over anyone else. She was able to get away with it thanks to her backing as she was from a very well off family that was working behind the scenes to give credit to her story about why she could not have shared that part of her finding with her people. Of course, she gave them everything she gained from the journey to make up for this. Everything else being the things that could not be used to make a dragon's scale stronger but still have value to them be it monetary or otherwise.

Sala enjoys fame and fortune even more so as the tank of the Rotune group. Able to form her own party once again, a brand new party for herself made of the best dragons in each field with her as the tank of the group serving as the premiere group that traveled around their homeland searching for rare items and materials. Though that was the claim she made in reality she was just making it so that no one could ever get a harder scale than her own. That is what she was doing at home with her own group while those loyal only to her family were doing it aboard. Keeping any dragon from being able to obtain anything from the fifth supercontinent that can strengthen their scales in massive ways. They were allowed to do so when it came to the things that were available before her trip with the Rotune group.

However, anything that came afterward was stopped and prevented without fail. Leaving the existing stuff that could be used alone was no problem as what she acquired the difference between even the weakest one will always be night and day. Does not matter how much of the old stuff one acquires it will always pale in compression in the end.

This party that the dragon girl was a part of was heading easily towards the center of the cave as they did not really offer up any real challenge to them. It seemed that some humans were living in the cave but they were easy enough to take care of and were the reason why this cave was so easy to get through. The only thing they ran into was humans after all they barrel their way through them and would get the rare thing housed in the center in no time.

However, when they got to the center the only thing awaiting them was a single human that just sitting there as if they were waiting for them.
