Yuan muttered with disbelief, "It can't be…"
"Isn't she…" he whispered to himself.
"Why is she here?" His legs moved instinctively, carrying him towards her without his conscious awareness. In less than five seconds, he stood before the room.
Using the keys he had obtained from the guards, he unlocked the door as usual.
As the door swung open, a sight of terror and pity assaulted his senses. A young woman, dressed in old, tattered, and filthy black clothes, was chained to the wall. Her body bore numerous injuries and wounds, likely inflicted by a whip.
But what caught Yuan's attention the most were her slightly pointed ears and a peculiar symbol adorning her forehead.
Discomfort and pain twisted Yuan's heart as he gazed upon her. With just one glance, he could imagine the unimaginable torture she had endured.
"Wait! Is she still alive?!" Yuan exclaimed, rushing towards the woman.
He carefully checked her life force.
