Master Of My Universe: The Author Who Became the Hero's System

You can have a chat with me on discord. https://discord.gg/MgVng8Fh Mark Eisner is the greatest example of a failure. Unable to get his dream job, he resorts to writing a story, a story close to his heart, a story in which he expressed himself to the fullest. It was the delusional universe he created for himself. Unable to grasp the attention of readers, his book was deemed a failure as well. Heartbroken after suffering his crushing fate, Mark commits suicide, uttering his last words; proclaiming the end of his story. But was this the end of his story? Hell Nah! He is far from being dead. He finds himself, astonishingly, still possessing his consciousness, even though his existence is formless. What he then sees is unbelievable. The hero he created, the hero "he only" loved, the hero that reflected himself... His own protagonist. Reincarnated as the system of the hero of his own novel, Mark undergoes an epic journey with his unanticipated creation, helping him throughout, knowing all about his predicaments. There are a few rules to him - 1. RELAY ONLY REQUIRED MESSAGE TO THE PLAYER 2. DROP DESIGNATED REWARDS 3. EXPEL THE PLAYER IF PLAUSIBILITY REACHES LIMITS But.... Is that all? Does he really thinks events will take place just as he layed them? . . . Is he really that Omniscient ? Is he the only one.... . . .

Expansion of Arsenal

Remirg Kryptos was ready for the next round. He had stuffed himself with enough food that his mind had started functioning to the fullest potential. It had been his meal of his life. Hell bound to not waste any more of his time, he had cut out right out in the sun, over to the main island.

Daylight still blazing, Remirg reopened the notification he seemed to have received ages ago.

[WOULD YOU LIKE TO PROGRESS TO BASIC POSSESSION SPELL LEVEL 2?]

With a clear decision already being made in his mind, Remirg hastily selected [YES]. It already felt like days since he had learnt something new. His last battle had painfully reminded him that he direly needed to expand his arsenal of spells.

One spell at the basic level wouldn't do shit if he had an encounter with a mere Y-class mage. They would overpower him not only with sheer knowledge, but the plethora of spells they possessed. It was high time Remirg needed to spend most of his time learning.

And as thoughts came to a close, with it came a new notification from the Simulator.

[THE PLAYER HAS BEEN FOUND TO COMPLETELY MASTER THE FULL POTENTIAL OF THE BASIC POSSESSION MAGIC LEVEL 1.

BASIC POSSESSION MAGIC LEVEL 2 NOT ONLY ALLOWS THE PLAYER TO MANIPULATE AN OBJECT'S TRAJECTORY AND POSITION, BUT IT ALSO ALLOWS THE PLAYER TO IMBUE SOME OF HIS PRANA TO MAKE THE OBJECT GO INTO A STANDSTILL IN A DESIRED POSITION.

THE OBJECT WILL CONTINUE TO BE IN THE VERY SAME POSITION TILL THE PLAYER'S IMBUED PRANA RUNS OUT.]

[THE REQUIRED SPELL IS "SHISU SKAN FINAS"]

Remirg read the message three times before the whole of the message's meaning seeped into him.

This spell reminded him of the hovering torches inside the very room from which he pulled his ass out. With it came the fleeting memories of his recent past experiences in the first quest.

But the most astonishing expansion of this very magic was just lying overhead.

The great cylindrical pure white gigantic monolith suspended midair high above the island. The sheer size of the object suggested the power of the mage who must have put an enchantment over it, to make it hover for so long, or that was what Remirg concluded.

The surface area of the cylinder was no less than that of a big playground he had seen the children of the nobility go to. Conveniently, he was barred from entering for very known reasons.

But that was another story for another day.

Pulling his mind back from the trance, Remirg focused on the incantation for the spell.

Much like its predecessor, this spell started with the same syllable "Shisu", though Remirg couldn't understand what the word really meant.

The next two syllables were quite easy to pronounce "skan finas". Remirg mouthed them a few times in spontaneous succession so that they seeped in right to his heart.

He couldn't do something as sheepish as forgetting a spell. That was as shitty as it could be.

After he finally believed that he had learnt the incantation right with his heart, it was now time to do the real thing, the experiment.

But like the previous time, the Simulator had turned white hands on explaining the exact functionality of the spell and how he was supposed to imbue his prana. The Simulator gave him the spell but didn't give him the theory.

But thinking the better of it, Remirg thought maybe that may be the best option. The learning of spells without the use of books and theory at all would provide him with a deep understanding of the spell.

Being posed no barriers by books, he could morph the spell into a novel use about which no mage must have thought of before. But that were just sweet dream before he could master anything at all.

Thinking of no other medium to get any possible information, Remirg had nothing to do but to experiment it on one of the pots in front of him, which, even after battle, were standing unscathed on their respective pedestals.

Taking a deep breath, Remirg started to regulate the flow of his prana, homogenizing it through the entirety of his body, concentrating it around his magical core, which had started to spin a bit faster than usual.

Looking directly at the left pot, his usual target, Remirg softly said, "Shisu Kannas, producing the very same effect he was expecting. The pot started hovering five feet midair and followed the trajectory of his fingers, deployed on Remirg's command.

Quite satisfied at his great improvement at the first spell, he carefully put the put back onto its pedestal.

Now focusing on the pot towards the right, which he now seemed to call "subject number 2" or "SN2" for short, he spoke in a clear voice,

"Shisu Skan Finas!"

The spell seemed to have no effect at all.

The town of Skund in the Kingdom of Ritia

The man had reached the place he needed to. The person he needed to meet resided in this very town, for which he had travelled more than three hundred miles.

Even though his body had reached a point where he needed rest, he kept on walking, as if nothing would stop him from completing his mission.

Entering like a shadow from the southern gate of the desolate city, over which hung an overcast sky through which daylight filtered to be as dim as to make the whole scenery monochromatic.

It was not a town meant for commoners. It was a settlement concealed from the rest of the kingdom. Its existence was only known to certain select individuals as seldom did its resident ever leave it.

The man's eyes showed caution.

He was on alert. He knew.... this was different than the wyvern in the forbidden forest. Things could become bloody if he didn't pay attention to his surroundings.

It didn't take more than a minute before he could already see an incoming fireball directed right at his chest. Though he had already concluded its presence by the use of prana presence.

Raising his two relaxed palms, which were covered with gruesome scars, the man drew an intricate symbol in the air, his fingers tracing countless semicircles and straight lines in the process.

It was when the fireball was right at him when he completed it.

The next moment, the fireball was sucked right through thin air, transferred right into the void, the ultimate trashcan. But still, the impact of the fireball gave him a recoil velocity, displacing him a few centimeters behind.

With a smirk on his face, he thought,

"Not bad at all...."

Will be going premium in a couple of days... Hope you guys support me :]
