"Su Ke, look, this is our classroom!"
"This is where you will live, and you will be staying here too!"
"This is the playground. School is over now, so there are many people here..."
Hank eagerly and patiently introduced every part of the mutant school to Su Ke, clearly welcoming him warmly.
"Hello, your name is Su Ke, right?"
As they reached the lake, a soft female voice rang in Su Ke's mind, causing him to stop. It was Jean Grey!
"What's wrong, Su Ke?" Hank asked, noticing him pause.
"Nothing," Su Ke smiled. "Teacher Hank, can I be alone for a while? I need to digest everything you just showed me."
"Of course! I'll go back first, but remember to come find me later," Hank replied with a smile before leaving.
Once Hank's figure disappeared, Su Ke looked towards a nearby tree where a pair of nervous eyes peeked out. Amused, Su Ke walked to the tree and said, "Hello, Jean Grey. My name is Su Ke. Nice to meet you!"
"Y-you know my name?" Jean Grey stuttered, stepping out from behind the tree, looking like a shy little girl.
"Didn't you introduce yourself to me when I was asleep? And I want to thank you because it was your introduction that woke me up!" Su Ke said warmly, though he was internally shocked. This was Jean Grey, the famous Phoenix of the X-Men, an Omega-level mutant with the powerful Phoenix Force. Many powerful beings in the X-Men universe had been defeated by her, including Apocalypse, Professor X, and Magneto.
Wait... Jean Grey is a telepathic mutant. Doesn't that mean she can sense all my thoughts? In front of her, I have no secrets at all?
While Professor X couldn't read his thoughts, Jean Grey was different. She was the host of the Phoenix Force, with abilities far surpassing Professor X's. Could she already know about his identity as a time traveler or the existence of the system?
Heart pounding, Su Ke asked, "Have you been reading my thoughts and ideas all the time?"
"No, no..." Jean Grey hurriedly denied, clearly panicked. "I never intended to read your thoughts, and I can't because your mental ability is too strong. It even hinders my telepathy. I can't read anyone's thoughts around you. I didn't even know you could hear my voice before... I should thank you because of you, I can no longer hear those messy voices."
Really?
Relieved, Su Ke realized his secret was safe. He also understood that Jean Grey seemed to hate her ability. Because she couldn't control it, her mind was always filled with the voices and thoughts of the people around her, which nearly drove her to collapse.
What a poor child...
Su Ke shook his head, reached out, and gently stroked Jean Grey's hair to comfort her. At that moment, he seemed to forget that he was just a sixteen-year-old child.
To his surprise, this simple act moved Jean Grey so much that she almost cried. Feeling a bit embarrassed, Su Ke noticed how easily the scene could be misunderstood.
As if realizing their closeness, Jean Grey quickly took two steps back and said nervously, "Don't... Don't get too close to me. I... I might do something terrible. I am a monster..."
Su Ke knew that the "monster" Jean referred to was the Phoenix Force within her. If it erupted, it would indeed be monstrous. However, at this time, her power was still weak, and Professor X could still help her control it. If the Phoenix Force were so easily triggered, Professor X would not have let her stay at the school.
Thinking of this, Su Ke laughed and said, "What's wrong with being a monster? I'm an alien. In the eyes of humans and mutants, aliens are the real monsters, right? You are not alone, because you have an alien monster friend like me!"
"Friend? Are you willing to be my friend?" Jean Grey asked, surprised.
"Of course!" Su Ke replied, extending his hand with a smile.
In the office nearby, Professor X watched the scene with a smile. Jean Grey had always been a troubled student, fearful of her own power and afraid to get close to anyone. Unexpectedly, the new alien Su Ke had helped her overcome her fear.
However, Professor X's smile soon faded, as he remembered the looming threats of Nick Fury, the director of S.H.I.E.L.D., and Tony Stark, the Iron Man. He knew they would not easily leave Su Ke alone and would definitely cause trouble for him.
