Chapter 259
The crimson chaos energy surged violently toward the Mind Stone above Ultron's head, causing the stone to tremble in distress.
Thor couldn't shake the feeling that Ultron was suffering greatly from Wanda's attack.
In theory, Vision is composed of four parts: Ultron, JARVIS, Vibranium body, and the Mind Stone. Since Ultron is now missing only JARVIS's consciousness, it's almost as if Ultron is Vision.
Seeing Wanda tear into Ultron like this was quite satisfying for Thor.
In his heart he said
I, Thor Odinson, swear to uphold justice and cuck those in need!
...
"Ouch..."
Hulk, influenced by the Mind Stone, was in a frenzy of rage, his roars echoing with distortion.
"Boom..."
The parking lot outside S.W.O.R.D. became a battleground as Hulk demolished cars, turning them into heaps of scrap metal.
Fortunately, by the time the Avengers arrived, Maria Hill had already led the agents in evacuating civilians, preventing any major casualties.
"Clatter…"
Hulk dismantled the last Hummer, throwing it aside like trash before shaking his head and charging toward the distant town.
"Bang-bang-bang-bang-bang-"
Steel beams rained down from above, obstructing Hulk's path and encircling him like an oversized lid.
At the same time, Stark hovered in the air in his battle armor, with a red metal flying object behind him. Dozens of components with jets emerged and assembled around him, transforming into a massive suit in moments.
As Hulk tore through the barrier and saw the enormous mechanical giant, he realized it was the Mark 45—Stark's anti-Hulk armor.
"Hey, Hulk, calm down! Calm down!"
Stark attempted to reason: "Ultron messed with your mind, but you can overcome this! You're stronger and smarter than him...you are Bruce Banner!"
"Roar...Hulk! Hulk!"
Upon hearing his real name, Hulk's rage intensified. He charged at Stark, delivering a powerful punch that sent him flying.
"Oh! My bad, I shouldn't have mentioned Banner..."
Stark, now on the ground, rose and adjusted his broken breastplate. Parts from Veronica hovered nearby, ready to repair the damage.
"But now, you need to snap out of it!"
...
The battle between Wanda and Ultron raged on.
Even though Wanda, as the Scarlet Witch, had immense power, dismantling the original stone wasn't easy without intense emotion. Moreover, Ultron wasn't simply sitting back and waiting to die.
The Mind Stone fired a beam of energy, momentarily halting Wanda's chaos power and allowing Ultron to regain some freedom.
One entity was empty, freeing itself from chaos' grasp.
"Bang…Bang…"
The clash between Wanda, now the Scarlet Witch, and the enhanced Ultron, was fierce. Red energy balls and golden rays collided repeatedly, sending shockwaves that shook the entire S.W.O.R.D. base.
Thor watched the battle with interest, intrigued by this upgraded version of Ultron.
"Wanda! You're not like ordinary people. You should understand and join me!"
Ultron continued to plead: "Any progress involves sacrifice, much like the experiments you endured in Sokovia. Without the numerous subjects who perished in the process, you wouldn't be who you are today."
Ultron viewed Hydra's experiments as a step towards evolution, and Wanda as a successful product of this process. He believed her power was immense and that her support would be invaluable.
However, Wanda ignored him and continued to press the attack, putting immense pressure on Ultron.
Realizing he was losing, Ultron considered retreating. Wanda's strength alone, combined with Thor's observation, was overwhelming.
Suddenly, Wanda saw a flash and Ultron's form became transparent, then completely vanished, replaced by a swarm of robots charging towards them.
"Drink!"
Wanda unleashed a large-scale chaos explosion, clearing the area but still finding no trace of Ultron.
"Where did he go?"
Wanda looked around, puzzled, and turned to Thor. Black Widow and the others remained vigilant.
"Running away? Is this teleportation?"
Captain America smashed a robot and looked confused: "How did he disappear so quickly?"
Thor shook his head: "No, it's not teleportation. He's moving through the network!"
"What does that mean?"
"Ultron's essence is artificial intelligence. In a sense, it's an immortal entity that can traverse the entire Internet."
"No way?"
Wanda was astonished: "Is that even possible? He already has a physical body and the Mind Stone. Can all of this follow him into the network?"
Black Widow frowned: "If that's the case, how do we stop him? We can't just shut down the Internet globally."
Indeed, cutting off the Internet is impractical; crucial systems like nuclear plants rely on constant connectivity. Disconnecting would cause severe repercussions.
Thor was deep in thought.
In the original film, Ultron had the ability to move through the Internet.
Vision had ultimately expelled him from the network, allowing for his destruction.
Now, without Vision, and with Ultron using both the Mind Stone and the Vibranium body, things were more complex.
While dealing with Vibranium could be manageable—Thor could just go to Wakanda—the Mind Stone remained a challenge to replicate.
