The guards were no strangers to Paul's yelling.
In this dark laboratory, there was no shortage of experimental subjects driven mad. They thought Paul was probably just another one, so they glanced at him a few times and then turned their eyes away, ignoring him.
"F**k, you interrupted my date with Scarlett!"
A hoarse voice came from the next bed.
After venting, Paul calmed down a little and turned his head towards the voice.
The speaker was a young white man with a beard. His face was frighteningly pale, with protruding cheekbones on his thin cheeks, looking like a terminally ill patient.
The young man glared at Paul viciously: "Damn it, we were just about to get to the good part when your yelling scared Scarlett away and ruined my date!"
Seeing his serious expression, Paul was a bit speechless.
"Wade, didn't you say you have a girlfriend outside? Instead of having these useless daydreams, you should find a way to get out. Otherwise, a few years from now, a half-grown kid might call you daddy."
"F**k it!"
Hearing this, Wade immediately broke his guard and said angrily, "After I get rid of these damn cancer cells, I'll get Vanessa back. Then I'll show you the most beautiful woman in the world."
"The premise is to actually get out..." Paul said, suddenly remembering something important about Wade.
The man before him, Wade, was Wade Wilson.
That's right, it was Deadpool, the famous future mercenary and Marvel's first mouthpiece.
Diagnosed with cancer, Wade, having no other options, volunteered for this genetic modification experiment. Paul, who had just arrived, was assigned with him.
After some time, the two naturally began to chat. This was also due to Paul's initiative to get acquainted. Despite Wade's unreliable character, his abilities as a top mercenary were unquestionable.
If Wade hadn't voluntarily stayed in the institute for genetic modification, the institute's security wouldn't have been able to contain him.
According to the movie's plot, once Wade got the self-healing factor, he would plan his escape. His actions would cause an explosion, setting the institute on fire and turning it into a death trap for everyone inside.
Paul had initially thought about holding on and escaping during the chaos Wade would create. But plans couldn't keep up with changes. Paul did not expect the "Super High School Stuntman" trait to be so powerful.
In an instant, all his injuries healed. If anyone checked Paul's body now, his secret would be revealed. Once Francis knew, Paul would be under even tighter scrutiny, making escape impossible.
So, Paul had to escape before his ability was discovered. Time was running out.
…
Paul quickly went through the movie plot in his mind. Suddenly, he had a bold idea.
Looking at Wade, who was still shouting, Paul narrowed his eyes: "Wade, do you know Ajax's secret?"
"What secret?" Wade's interest was piqued.
Due to his talkative nature, Wade often received special attention from Francis. He was always curious about Francis' secrets.
Paul smiled slightly: "Actually, the name Ajax is fake. His real name is Francis. Ajax was originally a brand of dish soap, but he took it as his name."
"No, are you serious?"
"Absolutely. This secret is only known to me right now."
"Hahahaha! I knew Ajax was a fake name, but I didn't expect it to be a dish soap brand. What kind of idiot uses dish soap as his name? Francis, you brainless moron!"
Wade laughed maniacally, his body contorting on the hospital bed.
Paul's expression revealed a hint of worry. "It's good that only we know this. Remember, don't tell anyone else, especially Ajax... I mean, Francis."
"Especially don't laugh at his name. Francis has thin skin; he'll bite if provoked," Paul emphasized repeatedly.
"Don't worry, keeping secrets is a basic mercenary skill. I've had strict training," Wade laughed and promised, nearly pounding his chest to show his reliability.
Seeing his reaction, Paul nodded in satisfaction. "Alright, I believe you."
…
The next day, Francis appeared in the lobby as usual. As the person in charge, he regularly checked the progress of the experimental subjects. They were valuable assets, and any issues would be costly.
After inspecting several subjects, Francis picked up their test reports and continued deeper into the hall. Soon, he reached Paul and Wade's beds.
Just then, Wade looked up and saw him.
"Pfft..."
Francis was momentarily taken aback. What was that reaction?
Before he could speak, Wade began writhing on the bed, and then, an uncontrollable laugh filled the hall.
"I'm sorry, I can't help it. There's an idiot who uses a dish soap brand as his name. Damn, that's hilarious. Hahahaha..."
Francis: "..."
