Nolamine dodged the attack from the Sepcapto. With eight scythes that could rip him apart if he needlessly came close to it, he had to keep his distance. While dodging, he parried the Cabol's attack and stepped back, trying to find a plan of attack to finish the fight quickly or just stay alive.
Embers of burning runes so microscopic no one could see them started to show themselves in his pupil, burning ever so slightly violently.
The beasts did not give him time to think. With the movability of the Sepcapto, it could turn to wherever he was after dodging.
A scythes met with kunai knives as he parried the Sepcapto attacks. This time it pushed him back as he managed to deal with all eight of its scythes. He could only block though and knowing that they were poisonous, defense was his first priority.
He praised the quality of the kunai as every time he blocked, he would cheep away at the scythes. It was then that he noticed that he was handling the attacks pretty well and he was stronger than he realized.
What he did not realize was that he was using strength that exceeded any normal human. His fight with the Canabris and almost dying had somehow made him stronger, his body starting to remember what it was capable of from a young age.
"Pang"
The scythe of the Cabol hit right where he had been standing, digging deep into the cement. He had moved as soon as it was about to trike his skull.
It was a rush move by the beast. Even though it was using weapons, it still thought like a beast. The two had no sense of partnership, with each one attacking without a thought.
The Cabol's attack had made it step in front of the Sepcapto making it holt its attack. It twisted its body trying to go around the Cabol but Nolamine could not waste the chance.
He had to act fast and he kicked the Cabol, launching it at the Sepcapto and it crashed into it, making them both roll on the ground and hitting a parked car.
He dashed in, trying to seize his chance. He wanted to kill the Sepcapto first as it was the most troublesome. He got by its head and was about to plunge the kunai in its head when he saw its tail end coming at him.
It was too late to jump or dodge away, so he grimaced and prepared to block. The hands it used to walk on had folded into fists.
Nolamine knew from his previous fight how strong those hands could be. He lifted his leg and crouched a little, trying to protect his front section.
It hit him and pushed him away. He had jumped at the last second and made himself lighter so that the impact could be lessened with him off the ground. He rolled on the floor and stood up like the boss he was feeling he was at that point.
Unlike the punch of the Canabris that left him for dead, this was an attack his body could handle. The embers in his eyes ever so slightly turned into a blaze as he got into the fight.
The two were coming at him and he dashed to meet them half away. This time on the attack. His approach changed by his newfound confidence.
He attacked the Cabol and it blocking the attack with ease. He dodged the scythes from the Sepcapto as he used the Cabol's body to dodge while he moved beside it.
The Sepcapto changed its angle of attack and tried to come at him on the other side, but he would attack the Cabol making it dodge and move to the opposite side again, keeping the Cabol in front of him and the Sepcapto behind it.
He knew what he was doing was not going to last and just on cue, the Sepcapto tired of playing his game brought its tail inward, trying to wrap it around him.
After the Cabol blocked his attack again, he did what he knew best. He side-kicked it and sent it crashing into the Sepcapto again. After kicking it, he extended his hand and kunai onto his side, sticking it in the lower belly of the Sepcapto as it was pushed back by the Cabol after crashing into it.
The kunai went into it like a knife through butter as it sliced its lower belly open.
It rolled on the ground and as it did so, injuring the Cabol with its scythes next to it. He thought the poison would take effect but it seemed it was immune to it. He had no time to look on as it spilled some of its entrails as it revved in pain.
He praised his weapons and dashed in. The Capol again blocked his attacks but was now in for a surprise. With him needing to deal only with it for now, he put all his strength on the attack.
As it blocked his attacks, he managed to get near it again and executed one of his best moves so far that could only be seen on a big screen to be appreciated.
He kicked the lower part of it's feet, sweeping it off the ground and turning it anticlockwise in mid-air. As it turned with its head hitting 9 o'clock, it was lights out for it.
Using his right hand, he plunged the kunai into its ear, it going in all the way to its brain. The force of it hitting the ground with him still plunging the kunai in it cracking its skull. It had died even before hitting the ground.
'It's true, these two are unlike the Canabris.'
He thought after killing his first beast. Unlike when the Canabris died, the Cabol did not turn into smoke and leave its core behind. It just laid there dead and bleeding from its ear and cracked skull.
He prepared himself as a furious Sepcapto came at him.
Remembering a technique he used to practice with Frogs when they were young, he tried it out as it would be perfect for the situation. He aimed his kunai at the incoming Sepcapto and threw the knife towards it, with it landing on its target.
But, alas, nothing happened. It hit the Sepcapto right on its head but with the flat side of the blade.
"thump."
The sound of a kunai hitting the Sepcapto rang out in the parking lot and it was then that he noticed that no one was fighting, as the Sepcapto had stopped its attack, wondering what had hit its head.
Seeing the kunai falling down, the knife used to slit its belly open, it looked at Nolamine and grew even more furious. It was like he was mocking it.
It rushed at him and with it no more aiming its attacks with the little precision it had, it was easy for Nolamine to dodge its attacks.
He swiftly dodged to the side and went to the back of it. With ease, he stabbed it behind its head, killing it without a sweat. Like a tree falling down, it fell and stayed down.
He was surprised at how the fight had gone and was even proud of himself. He took out the kunai from the Sepcapto's head and went to take the other one he had dismally thrown at it.
As he had suspected, Mi-sun and the man's fight seemed like it had been long over.
"What in the world was that throw? Were you trying to surprise it to death?"
Mi-sun said as she looked at him. The parking lot was big and his fight had moved far away from where they had been standing when it started.
He walked over to her and was relieved she was fine. Infect, she looked like nothing happened to her, only her katana still dripping blood. It was a far cry to how he was, looking like he was hit by a car.
He looked over by a smashed car and there, lumped on the ground by the car was a man. He tried to hold it but he could not. He vomited what he had eaten that morning and instantly felt ill.
The man was dead and the sight unsightly. His eye had popped out, his tongue hanging out and with his neck split open. A pool of his own blood all around him.
He looked at Mi-sun as she used a white cloth to wipe her katana with no remorse whatsoever. It was clear he did not know the real Mi-sun and that day he had gotten the full dose of the real her.
He could not bear to look at the man and wanted to get the hell out of there as fast as he could.
"Nolamine, this is your new reality. The sooner you accept it the better your chances of surviving. Killing a person is something you will have to do one day and it might be sooner than you think. You have to think of how far you are willing to go to archive your goals."
She said as the katana turned into lipstick again together with her rings. She made a phone call and they got out of there.
After his battle and managing to kill two beasts, his mind was blank, and he could not think properly for a while. The thought of killing someone was playing with his soul. Seeing someone dead for the first time and knowing who had killed him clouded the feelings that were coming back with his memories and kept them at bay.
The teenager was coming out of him whether he liked it or not and that was Mi-sun's wish as she looked at him looking outside the window of the plane they had boarded.
