Chapter 58: Sweet Mom

As Ava prepared to leave the office for the night, she remembered she hadn't spoken to Mrs. Williams in a couple of days. Quickly pulling out her phone, she dialed her before she forgot. One of the downsides of calling Mrs Williams was the inevitable nagging and dredging up of the past that Ava preferred to keep buried.

But what choice did she have? She is the one she regards as her mother after all, only looking out for her best interests, even if her constant lecturing could grate on Ava's nerves at times. She had to try to see things from her perspective - Mrs. Williams didn't want to be this way, it's just that men could be so callous and heartless, making finding a good partner increasingly difficult with each failed relationship.

The phone barely rang twice before Mrs Williams cheerfully answered, "Hello, momma."

"Hello, my beautiful daughter! How are you doing?"

"I'm fine, and how about you, momma?"
