The Hardest Two Weeks

In the Crown Prince's chamber, the cousins were quietly having dinner together and they were also alone as Alerone dismissed all the servants.

Alerone knew that there was a little change in Nicien this time but he didn't know why and he wasn't sure of how much his cousin's changed either.

Was it because Nicien felt guilty for hurting him by mistake that day?

"You are acting really strange, Nicien," Alerone Caderin pointed out, glancing at his cousin from time to time. "Did something happen while you're away?"

"I don't know what you're trying to say," Nicien Vamieres simply said as he ate. Like he always did, he didn't spare his cousin a single glance.

Despite Nicien's indifferent nature, Alerone Caderin still smiled. He knew that his cousin cared about him though he always treated him coldly and... this was enough for him.

The dinner went on in silence until Prince Nicien spoke up.

"I heard about Uncle's plan for your marriage."
