We were still laughing and talking about random stuff when we heard screams from outside. We dropped our tasty juice and rushed outside only to be astonished by who we saw. She was greeting everyone, and I saw the way grandma hugged her tightly. "What is she doing here, isn't her wedding in a week?" Carie said.
Berverly stared at me with a smile, "Berverly, what are you doing here!" Mother asked. Everyone was astonished by her presence here except grandma of course. "I invited her!" Grandma stated. "Why? Isn't she supposed to get married this weekend?" Mother asked.
"You haven't heard what happened to her have you?" Grandma said. "The marriage has been called off!" Berv spoke instead. "Berverly what happened? How was it called off?" Mother sounded perturbed. "Carlos... I...i caught him cheating and.... I rather not talk about it!" She used her hands to clean the little tear drops from her eyes.
Everyone fell for her trick except I and Carie, maybe because it was obvious she was lying. They were all blinded to see that cause of the likeness they had for her. "She came over to rest away from the news and all the stories people would fabricate. So I would want all of you to please give her some time to rest and relax her brain!" Grandma said.
"This is so ridiculous, of all places in the world you decided to take your rest here? The same time we're on vacation. What are you aiming for? If you think Alex is here too then.....!"
"That's enough Carie, you of all people's should know what she's going through now. Don't forget I invited her here!" Grandma said sternly. "But.....!"
"No buts Carie!" Grandma retorted. I patted carie's shoulders tenderly trying to calm her down. She doesn't know how to hold a grudge, she speaks her mind when she feels like to anyone without fear.
"That's alright grandma, I know Carie doesn't like me!" Berverly sounded so pitiful. "That's okay my dear, I don't know how she would pick a girl she just met over a real family member!" Grandma said glaring at me. I knew somehow she would end up dragging me into this. She finds the smallest chance to insult me.
I just don't know how long I can keep up with her negative energy. We got back into the apartment, Carie was burning with range. "Did you see how fake she was? She's buying her way back in as usual and she's using grandma again!" Carie said
"I'm so tired of this roller coaster. Their family owns large hotels and islands in different part of the word. If she's actually looking for a place to relax, she can just go there. Why does it have to be here? You don't know how frustrating it is to keep seeing that face every day!" She added.
"That's enough, we should try to avoid her and maybe everything will be fine. Besides this yard is massive we might not even see her around!" I said to Carie.
