Arriving back at a familiar Mansion on the same night was Maya holding her little boy. From time to time they usually visit her now old lonely father so he doesn't feel distant or alone. She wanted her son to get accustomed to his presence. Turning around to the car parked at the entrance of the mansion, both Maya and Carlos's junior waved goodbye to Carlos before stepping in.

After Maya's discussion with Hazel, she finally decided to visit her dad one of these days concerning her sister. She was scared for her life and children, the last time she visited it turned out to be ugly. Beverly still blames her for stealing Carlos when she rejected the man many times.

Carlos himself was tired of the constant back and forth relationship they had, she claims to love Alex yet she wanted Carlos to be with her still. "Junior you're here." Martin stretched his hands out and picked up his little grandson. It turns out his notorious daughter has made him the happiest man in the world.

Being able to have a son has always been his dream, not that he didn't love his daughters, but a junior him was all he wanted. "Grandpapa." Jnr Carlos called sweetly hugging his grandfather. Martin is his favorite, cause he lets him get away with whatever he does, unlike his father whose recent habit is scolding and spanking him. "Good evening Father." Maya kissed his cheeks.

She's happy that somehow, her father has been able to survive without her mother's presence, "You look good my dear." "Thanks." The maids helped arrange their bags as they will be staying here for a few days since Carlos has decided to go on his normal business trip with Alex and the rest.

.

"You should help me pack not investigate me." "Why would I? You just got back and you're leaving again." "I promise to be back before you know it, in the meantime here's a credit card for anything you need." He kissed me. "You know I don't want that." "Please babe understand."

Here we are again, Alex knew more than anyone that I don't want his money, I can take care of myself and his kids with or without his money. I was tired of the constant shopping, vacations, outgoing's, work, I was completely fed up with this life. There's no point working hard and making money just to stuff them in the bank.

I never knew a day like this would come where I'd be tired of everything, this life... All I wanted was for Alex to stay, I knew expanding his empire was a bad idea, I wanted him to explain what it was Kendrick said about him. I wanted to know if he's that kind of man, I wanted to know if I knew the man I'm married to. The man I fell in love with.

There's no way one man can have this so much wealth and power, is not just possible. "I hope it's not one of your drug missions or whatever you mafia lords do." He met my gaze, "Who did you talk to?"

"Does it matter? The question that should be asked is what you are." "You talked to him, didn't you? You went against my word and defiled me." "I had no choice, not when I'm being lied to all these years, when we're you going to tell me?"

"It's best if you're not told, Hazel." "You don't know what it feels like having so much trust in a person, but realize you don't know who that person is anymore, you realize you've been living a lie." "Hazel." "No, don't Hazel me, I should have known the signs were everywhere."

"You lived normally and that's all I wanted, all I did is try to protect you." "This, this life is not normal Alex, killing people is not normal, you made me think it's normal. Having thousands of guards is not normal Alex it's not." My hands quickly got hold of the tears dripping down my cheeks.

"This is the reason I didn't welcome you into my world, Hazel, this is me, it's who I am everything Kendrick told you. I'm only sorry I wasn't the one who told you about it." His voice was firm and his face held no expression, Alex had a nonchalant expression on. He's always been this impossible to read, why didn't I give a thought to this?

Why I'm I blaming myself for this anyway? It's not like I found him, he found me. "You have to stop Alex." "Your mere words cannot change who I am overnight Hazel." "I can't be with a murderer."

"You don't have to worry about that, I can see we're from two different worlds, in other words, we're not compatible with each other, a divorce paper will be sent to you in a week, I'll come to see my kids when I return." He said coldly before stepping out. I quickly cleaned my tears with the back of my hands, Alex is right, there is no way we're compatible with each other.

I was hurting again, it's been years since I felt this way, but I guess our split is the best option, especially for the kids. I don't want them growing up to be like their father, there's no way ill let my kids grow up to be murderers and drug dealers.

I quickly washed my face before ascending to the dining room for breakfast, surprising Alex was eating with the kids and mother. "Mummy." Leah greeted smiling sheepishly cause her father fed her, she ate so cheerfully kissing everything that comes her way. Her affections towards Alex are nothing new, and I fear she'd be more affected by his decision.

I sat next to mum, not my usual sitting with Alex, "Are you alright?" She glanced at and then at me, and her eyes just kept going back and forth. "We're divorced, the papers should be sent within a week." He broke out. "I should be the one breaking the news to her."

          "What? Why?"

"It turns out your daughter trusts others' words more than mine." "But you admitted he was telling the truth." "A truth from a man who hates and despises me is no truth, Hazel." He got up and left the dining room.
