"I thought I could handle things myself, I was stupid thinking that way, I should have told you." She said. Alex blamed himself internally for everything that happened, maybe if he did not treat her the way he did, maybe she would have opened up to him.
"What did he ask you to do?" He tried to sound as calm as possible, he knew he was intruding into her most toxic memories, the part that hurt her the most. That man has done unspeakable things to his wife. He wanted to know them in detail to know how to deal with this man. Xavier deserves nothing but death, and as a minister of death, he was ready to administer death to him.
I bit her lower lips before parting them to speak, "He asked me to kill you, I don't know with what, but I rejected it, that's what led to the constant tortures." I wondered how Alex found out about everything, I couldn't recall telling him anything about Dad.
"The Viotto's are here sir," Gaius announced with a slight bow. His words distracted me from my thought making me imagine what the viotto's we're actually doing here. It's not like we were any close to them, so what could they possibly want?
"We'll be right there with them." Gaius bowed again before leaving the formal dining room. Just then I noticed how empty the mansion looked, it was like all the maids had varnished. "What happened to all the maids." "I fired them." Was his short reply.
We got to the formal lounge which held Carie, Lukas, and his family. Elder Viotto smiled the moment he saw me, and I returned it. This was not one of those times I'd get to fake a smile or pretend we were happy when I was dying inside. The man standing next to me was next to me, and he has proven it countless times since we got back together.
Alex held my hands in his and took me to a couch, "Welcome." He greeted. "Hazel my baby, it's been so long." Lukas's aunt Aurelia rushed in to hug me. "How have you been aunty?" "You know I asked them to get you this the moment I heard you were back." She stretched her hands for their male servant to carry out a gift box.
"You know today's your bridal shower, there are going to be lots of guests, but we want to give this to you personally." She handed the gift to Gaius to pick it up immediately. "She's asked not to carry heavy stuff, she's due soon." I stared at my overprotective husband in disbelief, but I couldn't oppose his words. Whatever decision Alex took is to protect me.
"That's okay." Aunt Aurelia said still sitted next to me. I met Carrie's gaze and we both exchanged a look, it was like she was trying to tell me something I couldn't quite catch. I had a lot to tell her, especially the vacation stuff, but I guess there are other days to let her know about it.
After escorting the Viotto's out of the mansion, I stepped back into the room to get changed for my shopping. It's my bridal shower today and I didn't go for shopping throughout the week with Alex. "Alex, we can't possibly keep my family pit of today's event." I could see the frown on his face, but I tried not to get intimidated by it.
No matter what, they're my family, he can't just push them aside or keep me away from them. When he said nothing, "Alex." I called sweetly watching him as he put his short on. "Alex just this once, I promise nothing out the ordinary will happen, I'll talk to my dad not to create a scene." I helped him fix his buttons slowly, as my voice came as only a whisper.
Alex narrowed his eyes at me, "You know I can't say no to you, I'll drop you off after shopping so you can invite them yourself." I beamed dragging his tie down to reach his lips, my lips brushed his for some seconds before pulling away. I loved the look of disappointment on his face, it really did make my day.
"Now I think of it, I'm not getting anything in return for seeing your parents." "What are you talking about?" I frowned. "You asked me to let your family attend your bridal shower, which means the restriction order is off. This is too much to do, I need something in return." My face had the disappointed look now.
Who knew this man can be this shameless, "What do you want In retu....." "You." He said blatantly. "Jerk, you're shameless Alex, taking advantage of your wife." Alex pulled me close to himself with a subtle smile on his lips. "The world is shameless itself baby, can you count the times the earth has seen us have sex? Teasing me with a kiss is not enough."
Oh, so it's about the kiss, "We only did it twice." "It's trice actually, but don't worry, soon you won't even keep track of it." I have up, I knew if I kept talking it'll only make this man keep saying nasty things. I could already feel my cheeks burning from his words. We both got dressed and left the closet.

We arrived before my family mansion, I felt tensed. It's been almost three weeks since I last saw everyone, being here with Alex was going to cause a ruckus and I felt like he wanted that to happen. "You can stay in the car while I talk to them, I promise to make it quick." Alex got out of the car and helped me out.
"Let's go talk to your family, I need to say hi to your mother." My heart skipped at his words, I was scared of what Dad would do to him, at the same time what Alex would do to Dad. Everybody knows they're sworn enemies and cannot stand each other.
Alex held my waist, pulling me to himself as we stepped in with his attorney behind us. "The Wilson's are here to see you, sir." The butler announced before we stepped in. My entire family members were present in the lounge including faces I'd never seen in my life.
They seem to be engrossed in an argument or important discussion. "My baby." Mum rushed in for a hug.
