"Who is he?" the paparazzi mumbled amongst themselves ."He looks familiar but I don't know where exactly I had seen him"Ava voiced out with furrowed brows trying to remember. Anaiah didn't clear the confusion because she was as confused as her, 'how could her dad become rich all of a sudden' she thought. The event had already begun in the inside but only a few journalist could join."First news journalists "A woman dressed as rich as the elites asked Ava . She nodded and pulled Anaiah along with her. Mia walked elegantly to where she spotted Kaden at and asked"I thought you said you were not going to come back any moment soon".Kaden who had a drink in his hand swirl it before answering sarcastically"I don't remember asking for your permission before doing anything". Mia beamed with a smile she knew Kaden was a man harsh with words but that didn't matter to her since she was used to it." Even still I'm glad you came"she countered but Kaden ignored her and walked to a man who was approaching him instead. Mia was Kaden's girlfriend three years ago but nobody knew why but they suddenly broke up and still claim to be in love with each other. A man who saw the whole thing between Kaden and Mia chuckled and walked to Kaden."Who would have thought that you and Mia would break up one day "Tristan one of Kaden's close friend said."And who would have thought you would become so nosey one day" he replied with a smirk on his lips. That's it, he wasn't looking for a permanent wife, he was looking for a woman who would just act infront of everyone to be his wife and then would later divorce her after a year. He was still in love with Mia but he just wanted her to make the first move. He doesn't chase women, women chase him instead and he always gets what he wants. Kaden turned in time as his eyes settled on his step mom. He smirked and called"mother". Tristan rolled his eyes at how Kaden called his step mother as if he liked her." Kaden"she smiled and introduced" Meet Aurora, the daughter of Mr-"Mella began proudly trying to show off to whoever was watching and listening that she was Kaden's mother since no one knows about her being his step mother."I know her mother"he cut her off and she arched a brow as if asking him how since he only arrived yesterday. Probably the vampires who were eavesdropping. One of the features of vampires is their high sense of hearing, they could hear each and every whisper that the humans say and whatever that goes on in the room even their fellow Vampire's.That's how come a lot of gasped echoed at the hall because some vampires who were listening had heard him. Mella smiled and tried to explain but the woman talked before she could"it seems your own son doesn't even listen to you and here I thought you were lucky , you're just like any of us"she said and chuckled . Mella pulled on a fake smile and said" don't jubilate over this because unlike you I'm a queen and also watch your tongue". She walked away cursing that good for nothing step son of hers ."You shouldn't stand here when all the girls in this room are trying to catch your cousin's attention"Edward said. Reece has been trying all this time to conceal her presence but it seems she couldn't, not when her father didn't want her to."I thought I told you before that I don't see him like that, he's like a brother to me"She objected . She couldn't even imagine herself in a relationship with Kaden."To hell with your brotherly affairs, you'll only do as I say" Edward insisted, he couldn't just let the opportunity of marrying off his daughter to Kaden slide. Reece rolled her eyes as she bit her lip. She saw a guy walking her way and tried walking away when her father held her in place, "where do you think you're going?"ha asked sternly." To the washroom" she lied . "Not when a guy is walking your w-""but I don't want to meet him "she cut him off and he grabbed her arm harshly digging his nails into her skin , she wanted to help but held it back as her eyes started becoming blurry with tears."You're going to do as I say"he warned sternly and pushed her forward. She stumbled and almost fell if the guy hadn't hold her , forcing a smile she walked with him to the dance floor.

Anaiah was sweating , she had a bad feeling about she and her father's sudden reunion."Anaiah are you alright?" Ava asked worried when she noticed she was sweating profusely."I'm fine, I need to go to the washroom" she lied and walked her way out trying to avoid her dad and for some unknown reason Kaden. She entered the bathroom and slammed the door as she leaned on it with her eyes shut .
